White played 9. Nxg4 which could have lead to the following miniature, if Black had attacked Rh1 immediately:

9... Ng3 10. Rg1 Qe7+ 11. Ne5 Nd7 12. Bxf4 Nxe5 13. dxe5 Bxe5 14. Bxe5 Qxe5+ 15. Kd2 Qf4+ #dia2

However, it does not make Black's 8... Nh5 move less brilliant:
