ANALYSIS [x]
Notes by R. TeichmannLeading to a drawn position. This variation has been played so often that it is entirely exhausted, and affords no chance for either player to try for a win.The mancuvres of the White King and Queen have enabled Black to begin an attack on the weak Queen’s side Pawns, which he conducts with great energy. White ought now to have played a3, and if Qb6, then b4, followed by Kg2, in order to bring the Queen over to the Queen’s wing again....Qxc5 at once would have been much better White could not then have taken on b7 on account of Qg5+ and if 37 Qg3, then Qd4(!), followed by Nh5 and f4, wInning.A blunder, which loses at once. Qg5 would still have given him good drawing chances : eg., 38...Qg5 39 Qxd4 Qc1+ 40 Kg2 Nh5 41 Qh8+ Ke7 42 Qe5+ Kd7 43 Nxb7 (or f7) Nf4+ 44 Kh2 Qf1 (!) forcing the draw.1-0

Yes, probably so. Schlechter had zero wins, 10 draws and one loss at Hastings going into this game. But after this game he scored four wins, three losses, and just two draws.
