Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-20-12  vikram2791: Endgame analysis: 33...Qh6 34.Rxh6 mate.Sounds like a pretty basic tactic.
Sep-20-12  vikram2791: Another variation: 33...Bxh5 34. Qxh5 Qh6 35.Qxh6#
Sep-20-12  Marmot PFL: Dave Sedgwick the car writer is a good player but I doubt he would last 32 moves against Adams. Still you never know.
Sep-20-12  goodevans: <vikram2791> A few small points:

Black resigned on his 32nd move, not his 33rd.

Also, 32...Bxh5 33.Qxh5+ Qh6 34.Qxh6+ isn't mate just yet. There's still time for 34...Rh7 35.Qf8#.

And there's one more variation needed to complete the analysis, viz. 32...Bxh5 33.Qxh5+ Rh7 34.Qe8+ Qf8 35.Qxf8#

May-31-13  master of defence: 31.Rh5+ would have give checkmate faster.
May-31-13  shivasuri4: <master of defence>, that's not true. 31.Rh5+ would have been met with 31...Nh6, delaying the mate. Of course, the win remains trivial, with 32.Rg6 crushing any hopes of a draw for Black.
May-31-13  master of defence: <shivasuri4>, Yes, what i said it's true. 31.Rh5+ Nh6 32.Rxh6+ Qxh6 33.Qe5+ and 34.QxQ mate.
