  wwall: Perhaps 55.b5, instead of 55.d7. If 55...g3, then 56.Kh7 h5 (56...g2 57.Rg8) 57.d7 Ke7 58.b6 Kxd8 59.b7 and White should draw.

If 62.Rh6 g2 63.Kf2 h3 64.Rh7+ Kb6 65.Rh6+ Ka5 wins, but not 62...Kc7 63.Rc6+ Kb8 (63...Kd7 64.Rc1 or 64.Rg6) 64.Rb6+ Ka7 65.Ra6+ Kb7 66.Rg6 and White could draw.

Not 80.Ra2+?, as 80...Kc3 81.Ra1 (81.Rxf2 g1=Q wins) 81...Rf1 wins.

Not 80...Rf1?, as 81.Ra2+ Ke3 82.Rxg2 should draw.

If 81.Re1+, then 81...Re2 and 82...Kf2 wins. If 81.Ra3+, then 81...Kd4 82.Ra4+ Kc3 83.Ra1 (83.Ra3 Kb2) 83...Rf1 wins. If 81.Rg1, then 81...Re2 82.Kh3 Kf3 83.Kh2 h3 as in the game.

After 83...h3, if 84.Rd1 Kf2 85.Kxh3 g1=Q wins. If 84.Kxh3, then 84...Re8 (threatening 85...Rh8 mate) 85.Kh4 Rg8 86.Kh5 Kf2 wins.

Oct-22-05  Calli: Alekhine's notes agree that 55.b5! draws. Also says that 66...Kd4 would have won a lot quicker.
Feb-10-07  Owl: If 24.Nxg5 Bxd3 25.Nxf7 Bxc4 26.Nxh6+ Pxh6 27.PxC4 Rxb2 28.Rc1 Rb4 29.Pc5 and White has a better won endgame
Feb-10-07  Owl: 32. Re1 Pxf3 33. Rxe2 Pxe2 34...Rf1+ and wins the queen

I dont understand how Alkhine missed this

What did you find against 32...exf3 33. gxf3, so now 33...Qxf3+ 34. Qxf3 Rxf3 35. Ra1 looks good for White.
