fredthebear: 19.f6!? Black's g7-pawn is pinned and mate is threatened. If 19...g6 20.Bf4 pins and wins the knight. If 19....Qxf6 20.Qg3 threatens 21.Bg5 skewering the Black queen to rook as well as a double attack on the knight.

I did not observe this straight away, but after visiting the commode, the position was clear as day. Which begs the question, when was the last time you wiped off your chess clock, board and pieces w/an anti-bacterial cloth? They do get a bit touched up by friends and strangers, no? Those portable disinfectant wipes come in handy for the hotel remote control, key cards, telephones and knobs.
