It's actually heart warming to see the old timer show the younger generation how it's done. Maybe that's because I'm also from the Fischer generation.

But the point here is...
the new computer dependent young generation of top players does not seem to have the same mastery of positional understanding as the former champions.

Indeed. In the hands of Kasparov the Najdorf is a deadly weapon and should be registered with the authorities!
