Apr-16-09 | | shortsight: I wonder if Sharhriyar will start accusing Aronian of using computer after this game. |
Apr-16-09 | | parmetd: count down to Mam's accusation since he got OWNED. |
Apr-16-09
 | | JointheArmy: Is every Mamedyarov loss with white under 40 moves going to be trolled with references to the Kurnosov game? |
Apr-16-09 | | notyetagm: Pwnage. |
Apr-16-09 | | ahmadov: <JointheArmy: Is every Mamedyarov loss with white under 40 moves going to be trolled with references to the Kurnosov game?> That is a good question...
Some people who have nothing to say just refer to that incident, which really becomes more and more boring... |
Apr-16-09 | | ahmadov: As for the game, it looks like he wanted to play an exciting game by sacrifice, but Aronian did not let him... |
Apr-16-09 | | kurtrichards: 24. Nh5 What's the idea, Shakhriyar? |
Apr-16-09 | | blacksburg: <Is every Mamedyarov loss with white under 40 moves going to be trolled with references to the Kurnosov game?> until Mamedyarov admits that his accusation was a load of BS, yes. |
Apr-16-09 | | Babar47: Ugh! What an ugly loss....
24. Nh5??
Seriously, what's the idea here... |
Apr-16-09 | | SurfacePlasmon: nice game by LA |
Apr-16-09 | | Dr. Funkenstein: I think "cheap shots" at Mamedyarov are expected and fair given his diva-like behaviour in accusing his opponent of cheating and then withdrawing from the tournament. The incident may be "boring", but it's quite serious to accuse another professional of something so serious with so little proof so I expect that this incident will haunt much of Mamedyarov's career unless he starts winning some super GM tournaments which will take the focus off of his previous actions. |
Apr-16-09 | | parmetd: exactly Funkenstein. As soon as he apologizes I think everyone will be ready to move on (or at least I will). But until he admits he's wrong he's a POS. |
Apr-16-09 | | Riverbeast: Can any of you say with 100% certainty that Kurnusov WASN'T cheating? I don't THINK Kurnusov was cheating, and of course players should be careful about making frivolous accusations....But computer cheating is a reality nowadays, and I'm sure it happens a lot more often than the times people actually get caught. To completely dismiss the possibility of computer cheating in any particular game is quite naive, in my opinion. And until adequate safeguards are provided in tournaments, these allegations are not going to go away |
Apr-16-09 | | Gambitor: mamedyarov's crazy play doesn't work against players like aronian.. i think he's overrated. |
Apr-16-09
 | | Open Defence: < Riverbeast: Can any of you say with 100% certainty that Kurnusov WASN'T cheating? > by that logic why not Aronian, Grischuk or any of the "winners" ? |
Apr-16-09 | | Hesam7: <ahmadov :Some people who have nothing to say just refer to that incident, which really becomes more and more boring...> Well chess is in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence is "boring". |
Apr-16-09 | | Hesam7: <Riverbeast: Can any of you say with 100% certainty that Kurnusov WASN'T cheating?> I thought it was innocent until proven guilty. |
Apr-16-09 | | shortsight: <The incident may be "boring", but it's quite serious to accuse another professional of something so serious with so little proof so I expect that this incident will haunt much of Mamedyarov's career unless he starts winning some super GM tournaments which will take the focus off of his previous actions.> haha, not so easy, by the time Shakhriyar starts winning super tournaments, others will accuse him of computer help then, until he admits his accusation is his own brainfart imagination. And if he continue his loss trend and sliding down the rankings, then according to his own logic, he's simply proving that he used computer help last time to boost his play and ranking up to world class. Now that he's missing the help, he's showing the true colors. I do think all these make sense to Shakhriyar himself too, after all these are the excuses to backup his accusations. |
Apr-16-09 | | shintaro go: Tactically unsound Shark... |
Apr-17-09
 | | Mateo: It wasn't Mamedyarov playing against Aronian, but Madmedyarov. Mamedyarov play was insane in this game. Aronian had just to grab the unsound sacs, 23.Nh5?? followed by 24.Nh6?? Mamedyarov just gave a free point to Aronian. |
Apr-19-09 | | hedgeh0g: <Well chess is in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence is "boring".> I think we are in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence isn't "boring". |
Apr-20-09 | | Augalv: <<Well chess is in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence is "boring".> I think we are in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence isn't "boring".> >Chess is in a sad state if repeated accusations of cheating without any shred of evidence are not punished. |
Apr-20-09 | | humangraymatter: Aron is lucky as always. |
Apr-20-09 | | beenthere240: <Mateo> And here I was thinking it was a bust of the Vienna. |
Apr-20-09 | | dumbgai: <Riverbeast> So by your reasoning, every player who ever wins a game must conclusively prove that he was not cheating, otherwise he deserves to be suspected? Brilliant. |
