Apr-16-09		Dr. Funkenstein: I think "cheap shots" at Mamedyarov are expected and fair given his diva-like behaviour in accusing his opponent of cheating and then withdrawing from the tournament. The incident may be "boring", but it's quite serious to accuse another professional of something so serious with so little proof so I expect that this incident will haunt much of Mamedyarov's career unless he starts winning some super GM tournaments which will take the focus off of his previous actions.

I don't THINK Kurnusov was cheating, and of course players should be careful about making frivolous accusations....But computer cheating is a reality nowadays, and I'm sure it happens a lot more often than the times people actually get caught. To completely dismiss the possibility of computer cheating in any particular game is quite naive, in my opinion. And until adequate safeguards are provided in tournaments, these allegations are not going to go away

And if he continue his loss trend and sliding down the rankings, then according to his own logic, he's simply proving that he used computer help last time to boost his play and ranking up to world class. Now that he's missing the help, he's showing the true colors. I do think all these make sense to Shakhriyar himself too, after all these are the excuses to backup his accusations.

Apr-17-09		Mateo: It wasn't Mamedyarov playing against Aronian, but Madmedyarov. Mamedyarov play was insane in this game. Aronian had just to grab the unsound sacs, 23.Nh5?? followed by 24.Nh6?? Mamedyarov just gave a free point to Aronian.
