The magical Mikhail Tal, the only non-magician able to weave his magic better than David Copperfield. By far the fastest by anyone to appear on the chess scene and reached the pinnacle. If Fischer, who took more than 15 years to be world champion, is considered the best along side Kasparov, then what is Tal's achievement? God-liked!

   Feb-03-17 Y Hou vs B Lalith, 2017 (replies)

shortsight: <luzhin>, because Hou Yifan wanted to move away from playing only women games and further improve her strength. She very well could have believe that FIDE is trying to prevent that from happening and manipulating her pairing to be women as and when possible. Maybe she ...

Apr-05-15 Women's World Championship Knockout Tournament (2015) (replies)

shortsight: Good that Muzychuk wins. Else, Pogonina husband would be trumpeting all over. Her husband has been a prick for quite some time.

   Oct-11-12 Viswanathan Anand (replies)

shortsight: Opps, he did bounce back and beat Gelfand in game 8 ... my bad.

   Jul-30-12 Xiaomin Peng (replies)

shortsight: To wordfunph, GM Peng Xiaomin is a guy!!

   Jun-03-12 H Seidman vs Santasiere, 1939 (replies)

shortsight: Reading the comments, this was also July 11 2004 Sunday puzzle! I was already a follower of ChessGames back then. I didn't solve today's puzzle, don't think I got it too 8 years ago :P

Jun-01-12 Anand - Gelfand World Championship Match (2012) (replies)

shortsight: <mrbasso: <Kasparov got no rights to criticize Anand or Gelfand ... he chickened out of FIDE KO championship all along while Anand proved himself in all formats. As a retiree, he should just enjoy the show.> BS. Of course he does have the right to criticize just like any

   Aug-25-10 Lubomir Kavalek (replies)

shortsight: I don't know about others, but I find Kavalek comments of other GMs lack the respect. He's blasted van Wely at the latest chessbase news: newsid=6628 http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...

May-12-10 Anand - Topalov World Championship Match (2010) (replies)

shortsight: Probably toughest in the sense that the most effort put in, the number of games stretched to the endgame, no early draws. All these took a great toll of stamina, concentration. It sure looks very tough to me.

Apr-28-10 Deep Junior vs Komodo, 2010 (replies)

shortsight: Deep Junior missed mate in one in move 98. Rh3# and many more in earlier and later moves. This must be a Dip Junior with a huge rating and performance dip!

   Apr-26-10 Veselin Topalov (replies)

shortsight: Did Topalov lost to Kasimdhanov as well in FIDE championship?
