It goes 1.Bd5+ Ng2 2.Ba8! h3 3.Kb7! and the kings just marches the stairs down !> Unfortunately, I don't know who is the author of this nice study as I have seen it only some 25 years ago from my friend, who gave it me as a puzzle to solve. Of course, final Knight checkmate on g3 after arrival of the King "down the stairs" to f2 was the reason of my deja vu feeling here.

If you haven't seen it before, then the mating sequence is not as readily obvious. So don't feel bad, man! LTJ

I really believe if the 66th move hadn't come up like it did, he wouldn't have made the mistake 75...Nxf6. Or maybe he was just tired and messed up.

Jul-30-18		Breunor: Ohiochessfan, I agree. Either he just got tired or he thought he had calculated the draw and missed the clever ending; these are the only logical conclusions.

Jul-30-18		sackman: After 75 Kg5 stockfish assesses this at = 0.00. After 75 ... Nxf6 the assessment is +132.79 (love that precision). Looks like 75 ... Nxf6 might have been a mistake... is this a record change in stockfish score for one move?
