Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-15-04  Gowe: Pretty nice 19.Ng6+. It's definitely a winning move.
Mar-06-07  OlafR: What after hxg6?
Mar-06-07  Billy Ray Valentine: <OlafR: What after hxg6?>

Isn't 20. Qh3+ Kg8 21. cxd4 good enough for a decisive advantage?

Mar-06-07  syracrophy: <<Billy Ray Valentine: <OlafR: What after hxg6?> Isn't 20. Qh3+ Kg8 21. cxd4 good enough for a decisive advantage?>>

19...hxg6 20.♕h3+ ♔g8 21.cxd5 and black can't recapture 21...cxd5?? due to 22.♗xd5+ wins the exchange. Now the threat is 22.dxc6 threatening 23.♗d5+

Aug-22-21  N.O.F. NAJDORF: I'm not sure I am going to get a reply this late, but after

19 ... hxg6

20 Qh3+ Kg8

21 cxd5 Oxe2

22 dxc bxc

in spite of his weak pawns at c6 and g6, black is actually level on material.

Aug-22-21  Granny O Doul: I think 22. Rae1 is far more likely. One line then is ...Qxa2 23. Qe6+ Rf7 24. dxc6 Qxe6 25. cxb7. Maybe Black doesn't resign yet against you or me, but Petrosian had a sort of name recognition most of us lack.
