Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-26-03  Shadout Mapes: Is the game over?
Oct-26-03  John Doe: 34. Bxf6 Bxf6 35. Rf8 and black loses the queen

or 34...Qxf6 35. Rf8 Bg8 36. Ne5

that's my guess.

Oct-26-03  Diggitydawg: <Shadout> 34.Qe6+ Kh8 35.Bxf6 BxB 36.Rf7 (forking Q and B and threatening eventual mate by Q on 7th rank) so ...QxR 37. QxQ
Oct-26-03  drukenknight: JD why 34....BxB? couldnt he take w/ Q? or give check first?
Oct-27-03  John Doe: Yes he could. That's precisely why I'm an idiot.
Oct-27-03  drukenknight: Dont beat yourself up. Just relax and concentrate the moves will come to you. Dont worry about visual imagery etc. just relax, you can still work on this game, is it over?
Apr-12-04  ughaibu: 34.Qe6 Kh8 35.Ne5
Apr-12-04  akiba82: 34. Qe6+ Kh8 35. Bf6 Qf6 36. Re8+ Kh7 37. Qg8#
Sep-20-07  BenedictXVI: 6. Qe2 a bit unusual. I mostly see Re1 or e5.
Feb-03-16  peterh99: Akiba's line looks right, but odd for Spassky to resign without waiting another move. Maybe Nez said something to him or kibitzers started buzzing!
Feb-03-16  morfishine: Of course <akiba82> is correct, but that's because SuperNez is never wrong...though he did lose a game here and there from time to time

An Englishman: Good Evening: Oh, well--if you can't win the USSR title, you might as well settle for defeating two future World Champions. A sort of consolation prize.
Dec-29-19  RookLifter: A possible variation given by Nezhmetdinov himself in the book ”Nezhmetdinov’s Best Games of Chess” is: 34. Qe6+ Kh8 35. Ne5 Qg8 36. Bxf6 Qxe6 37. Nxg6+ Kh7 38. Rxg7#
Jun-13-20  carpovius: No one like Nez leaves position with numeros ways to mate opponents!
Oct-26-21  edubueno: 23...a5? is a mistake.
Proposal 23....a6 = or much interesting 23...Txf3!
Feb-05-22  jerseybob: Losing the e-pawn is the final nail in black's coffin. 29..Bf6 might've held it together for awhile longer, although black's game is still extremely rickety.
