May-04-08  whiteshark: What about <10...Qxe5+> which prevents white from castling, too ?

May-04-08  depraved: <whiteshark> 11.Kd1 appears to give White excellent compensation; it's unclear how Black will be able to complete his development.
May-04-08  Kangaroo: This game was included into Russian edition of "My Best Games with White" by Viktor Korchnoi
Jul-21-11  Everett: Black gives up a pawn for free development and a slight cramp on white's position. Korchnoi responds with FOUR pawn sacs (see moves 5,10,13,15) and wipes Shapkin off the board.

perfidious: Playing through this game reminds me of a comment Korchnoi made back in the seventies to the effect that, in his early years, he played very sharply-much more so than did Browne or Ljubojevic.

It was amusing to buy a copy of 100 Modern Master Games of Chess by Tartakower and Dumont in 1980 and see this early effort by the future world championship challenger.

Sep-06-13  TheFocus: From the USSR Junior Team Championship.
Jan-02-22  Messiah: Dear god, what is this opening.
