The entire match was played from the 24th of December 1939 to the 14th of January 1940. This, the 8th match game was played on the 2nd of January.

  offramp: Euwe makes a big mistake in this game. He really did seem prone to making very serious errors.

Black has just played 31...♔g6-h5 ▢.

Black now played 32....Kh4 which lost immediately. Instead 32...fxg4!∞.
