Introduction
A match has been arranged between W. W. Kistler and A. J. Souweine; three and a half games up, draws to count half. (1)
Synopsis
The first game of the match was played last Sunday, and the manner in which Mr. Kistler conducted the attack showed that he had not neglected his chess books during his convaliescence. (2)
Another game was played last week in the Kistler-Souweine match and resulted in a second victory for Mr. Kistler, thus mamking the score 2 to 0 in his favor. (3)
The match between W. W. Kistler and Arthur J. Souweine, both of the Brooklyn Chess club, was finished last week, Mr. Souweine winning the last game and thus tying his opponent's score. As each had won three games and the terms of the match being for three and one-half games, it was decided to stop playing and to call the contest a draw. The result shows these two players to be pretty evenly matched. (4)
