Format: A five game series.
Time Control: 40 moves in first two hours then 20 move per hour thereafter.
Prizes: $15 for a win, $10 for a draw, and $5 for a loss in each game.
Introduction
The directors of the Manhattan Chess Club announce that they have arranged two additional series of games to be played at the club after the Lipschutz-Richardson bout. Marshall will be pitted against Veteran Delmar in a series of five games and Roething against Halpern. The rules and conditions of these contests will be similar to those governing the Lipschutz-Richardson series. (1)
The contest, best out of five games, between Marshall and Delmar was finished yesterday at the Manhattan Chess Club when the former won the fourth game. As he also won the third contest played on Saturday he placed three wins to his credit to Delmar's one. (2)
The fifth game of the contest between Marshall and Delmar was played at the Manhattan Chess Club yesterday afternoon. Marshall had already won the match, but the Tournament Committee requested the men to play the fifth game. (3)
