Match in 2012 between the Reigning champ (Vishy Anand) and the winner of candidates KO matches. Candidates are:
Topalov, Carlsen, Aronian, Kramnik, Gelfand, Radjabov, Mamedjarov, Kamsky candidates matches scheduled for April 2011 |

Strange that one of the all time greats have such terrible results with white against one opponent when they are excellent against all others, he has for example never lost a game with white against Kramnik. |

So that Topa will spend time analysing Anand's mistakes and hence his weaknesses, when in fact Anand just threw those games away. This is chess psychology. Losing games will lose rating points, but in the quest of the WC, rating points is nothing. |

Also I agree you should have your favorite player and support it and probably dont have to have much reasonable reason for having favorite it can be anything like your country man, his playing style, how your playing style matches his, how he looks..... |

| Sep-17-10 | | AuN1: out of all the candidates, i believe that aronian would be the most difficult opponent for anand, but that is not to say that he couldn't be bested by some of the other participants. personally, i think carlsen, topalov, and kramnik would have a solid match against anand, and the way gelfand has been playing recently, i wouldn't count him out either. |

I think that carlsen would be his toughest opponent.> you'd be correct if kramnik were playing the same way he was playing at the time of the match with anand in '08, but kramnik has stated that he was not playing at his best during that foray. recently he has scored much better results than he had leading up to that match, and there's little doubt that a match in 2012 between the two would be much more competitive than their '08 encounter. carlsen, on the other hand, has relatively little match experience, so it would be difficult to gauge how well he would do in a battle for the highest title. i for one would not rate his chances higher than aronian's, or kramnik's really, but that is based on inexperience rather than him being a weak player or something like that. |
