 | | perfidious: In a sense, therefore, it was the antithesis of GLC Chess Challenge (1986), an event won by Glenn Flear, who only appeared because Karpov, then Dorfman did not take part. Flear was married during the event, which John Nunn noted in his best games collection. As Nunn wryly commented in 1994: Flear had never had a result to compare to his win, but had not got married since either! |
