This round-robin was intended to have 10 players but unfortunately Eduardo Patricio Iturrizaga Bonelli was in a bad car accident on the way to the airport. Thankfully, the grandmaster emerged virtually unscathed, but he decided to withdraw from the tournament.

Oct-14-11  folchal: Seirawan won today. Interesting to me that his opponent took Yaz's recommended defense for beginners--not that it's a beginner defense. Yaz attacked with the Three Pawns if I read it right. I guess I better prepare some for Three Pawns when I use the Pirc.
Oct-14-11  Strongest Force: I hope nobody tries to hustle The Yaz for money in blitz. Whoever tries will be wiped out!
Oct-15-11  folchal: Today at the tournament Josep Oms came at Yaz with two waves of pawns from the beginning and castled queenside. He is also ahead by a Bishop. Yaz is pulled back in defense.
Oct-15-11  folchal: Seirawan won again in Barcelona today. He withstood an early wild pawn storm on both sides of the board and ended up with two pawns in d and e!

HeMateMe: Not bad for a guy with grey hair.
Oct-17-11  beenthere240: Spragget won a tight endgame to draw into a tie for the lead.
Oct-18-11  beenthere240: The leaders have 2 more games each and everyone else has 3, so it's anyone's tournament.
Oct-18-11  beenthere240: Kevin and Yasser can be considered on top now.
Oct-19-11  I play the Fred: Spraggett and Seirawan are co-leaders? I love the '80s.
Oct-20-11  beenthere240: So there are in fact 3 players tied at 4.5/7, with one round to go.
Oct-20-11  folchal: Ivan has won his game in the last round and I think Yaz looks good for a pawn dance. What do others think?

Oct-20-11  folchal: Seirawan won his game--way to go old fella (written by a 63 year old).
