May-28-03  Larsker: Ok guys, we couldn't agree on the pronunciation of Euwe - but at least we can agree on the pronunciation of de Vreugt? No?

May-29-03  Larsker: Sneaky: I think that Dondon is trying to communicate with you on the Fischer board :-) (That board went from mad to worse since you started talking about tagalog...) As to the pronunciation of de Vreught: Some things are better left unsaid :-)

lostemperor: I'll try it anyway Sneaky:). This is even worse than Euwe (since it has more letters). Eu as in euwe see his page. And the "g" as the German ch as in ich (I) or the Spanish "j" (I suppose) as in ajedrez or in don Juan or Vallejo. So it is not Freud!

Mar-22-07  stanleys: Dennis de Vreugt won two European junior championships: in 1998 (boys under 18) and 1999 (boys under 20).A little later he became a grandmaster.

Talented, creative player, dangerous tactician - but apparently lost motivation the last years.

In those European championships he played many interesting games, here are two of them:

Never heard of him, although I’m a dutch club player. What about Donner, Prins, Piket, Van der Wiel, Bosboom, etc. etc.?
