Jun-18-11 | | Deus Ex Alekhina: I have been buying used books and bargain books for years and just recently found how easy it is get very very cheap used books on any subject. I went to Borders and did a search on their computers and clicked on the "used" icon after locating the title: just got "Complete Works of Josephus" hardcover, excellent condition, $1.96; "Mammoth Book of Chess Games", paper, excellent, $1.04; "Moses and Monotheism" by Freud, 1957 paperback, $2.94, and a book by creationist scientist Jonathan Sarfati, who has his own chess forum here at CG for $1.04. And I did NOT have to pay shipping or handling! All the books arrived from different used agencies within 8 days of ordering. |

 | | playground player: <DEA> I didn't get where I am today without buying used books online. Mrs. PGP and I both buy used books online. It's the only way I can get Rick Brant and Freddy the Pig. Still, a public library really ought to have "The City of God." I'll bet <Phony Benoni's> library has it. (I'll have no ask him if they have my books--not that there's any comparison.) |

Jun-19-11 | | achieve: <pgp> You wrote earlier: <Yes, indeed, it is about time I read "The City of God."> Considering the context I do not see much value in spending too much time on Augustine's tome. Not as much for the irrelevancy re the Crighton "story", - but perhaps I may be wrong, - but I think that the message the Bible conveys loud and clear is polluted by a large portion of Augustine's writing in the city of god, and added to that online translation are on the web, and even audiobooks are readily available. Get one of those and indeed decide for yourself, while I stress that IMO Jess's summary was probably the best summary of the argument that both our positions were possibly defendable from Aug's writing, but in my opinion Augustine drives away forcefully from the message Jesus taught with great clarity. I remember that you didn't address that fundamental difference that Jess distilled expertly, and you were very busy, but lots of loose ends are out there. I know, that's life in the CG fast lane ;) - but still. This should be my last contribution on this subject for a while, hoping that you will be able to discern the further meaning of genetic modification, its origins, and where it is directed to. All by design and immeasurably highly funded by a few famous banking dynasties, literally in just about EVERY university in the US, and also abroad. Talking many many Billions. See you later, there's always email for persomal encouragement if needed. N |
|
Jun-19-11 | | achieve: <pgp> Two PS remarks/rectifications: Apologies for spelling Crichton incorrectly <twice> - it is my belief that if an argument is presented and the writer doesn't manage to spell the key players' names correctly, then... Ok second: you said "ANYthing goes, and I mean anything." This is very true, and very disturbing. If you want some detailed verified source material just give a shout. But you already outlined it quite poingnantly and detailed, so I have no reason to doubt your source material. Apology #2 that was. No need to repeat the chinese proverb I posted earlier, but of course you are welcome to message me on anything, anytime. One more thing: same story for me as the other week; my work week starts again tomorrow, so little time for extensive, intensive online interaction. Perhaps I learn to balance things better in the future ;) |
|
Jun-19-11 | | Deus Ex Alekhina: When I mentioned used books, I deliberately left out any mention of the esteemed author's works because writers make zilch when someone buys their "lifeblood" second hand, and I try to stick to non-fiction - but I am very curious how the author ties in vampires and Christianity - so I might be forced to take a peek. OK, now comes the religious question: "God made man in His own image"; "God does not make mistakes"; then how to explain the covenant with Abraham (circumcision)? Puzzling. Removal of the foreskin appears to be some correction of a mistake? |

 | | Phony Benoni: <playground player> (1) Yes, my library has the City of God. I work at a Catholic university. We are the City of God. (2) No, we don't have any of your books. Not even the one that was translated into Finnish. |

 | | playground player: <Phony Benoni> Would you believe it? I never got one red cent out of that world-famous Finnish translation! For all I know, I'm the Jerry Lewis of Finland. <achieve> Not having read St. Augustine, I have no way to judge whether his message differs from Our Lord Jesus Christ's. I'm most interested in "The City of God" because he wrote it in response to the news that Rome, the City of Man, had fallen. <DEA> "Lifeblood" was not "a Christian vampire novel" in any sense of the word. I was a different person when I wrote it, back in 1986. You can see reviews on my blog of two recent accepts, by Ellen C. Maze, to write genuine Christian vampire novels. True, I don't make any money when somebody buys one of my old books used on an online site. But presumably those books got into circulation by being sold new, and thus figured in my royalties. <Esteemed colleagues> I don't have time to discuss "Next" today, although I've just finished reading it. Maybe tomorrow. |

Jun-20-11 | | achieve: <pgp>: <I'm most interested in "The City of God" because he wrote it in response to the news that Rome, the City of Man, had fallen.> As was depicted in detailed prophecy by Jesus. That said i agree whole-heartedly with you, and an independent reading of City of God seems in order. Only way to discern "Biblical" from human leadership. So by all means read it, and reflect upon the problems of the modern integrated church. |

Jun-21-11 | | achieve: <pgp> While downloading (it's gotten stuck at this moment) Crichton's 'Next', here a few links that are very much on topic. You wrote: <You can tell people, and tell yourself, that your science will someday abolish disease and aging, make any kind of injury repairable, and confer physical immortality on the human race.> Enter:
<Aaron Franz - The Age of Transitions> "Aaron Franz created the film The Age of Transitions and has just released his first book Revolve; Man's Scientific Rise To Godhood. We get into the subjects that Aaron covers in his film and book which touches upon things like transhumanism and it's connection within the mystery schools, technological progress, man merging with machine, cyborgs, eugenics, the theory of evolution, reincarnation, cognitive neuroscience, ..." You can watch the docufilm here:
http://www.cosmicgnostic.com/pod54
and if you may find the time check out the other titles (of videos) listed below it as well! ;) Excerpt:
"The title, Age of Transitions, was coined by <Newt Gingrich>, in his introduction to the National Science Foundation and Department of Commerce sponsored workshop on NBIC technologies. The workshop featured a wide variety of participants: <NASA, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, the Department of Defence, Hewlett Packard>, and many others. It was a chance for experts in the fields of NBIC, along with government officials. And the goals discussed for the future, were nothing short of promethean. "With the key goal stated as: enhancing the human performance. This in turn would lead to a more efficient societal structure. Indeed technological conversion was given as the answer to all what has come to be known as, global problems. "It promised to bring upon, a new renaissance of human development. It was the hope of integrating humanity with nature, to <save the Earth>. "Enhancing human performance would require merging human biology with technology. Brain Machine Interfaces, BMI's, would allow the control of machinery with the brain itself." The <promethean> reference I quoted earlier, was accompanied by the image of the meters high <Prometheus> statue, on .... <Rockefeller Center>. Old devil <David R.> doesn't <hide> his visions in plain site, eh? Generations long all out Eugenicists, claiming - as you said - the throne of God, through science, pagan symbolism and worship, and yes, worship of the hurled down snake and his image (Revalation 13). If you still have the stomach, check out the docu: "The Transhumanist's Wet Dream", and see future visions in horrifying current action, the fulfillment of Revelation's description of Man's attempt to rival and defeat God. That docu also shows wich univerities are closely tied to this Wet Dream research. Where have all the trillions gone?
Galton Darwin believed, and wrote down, his vision that the World will ultimately be unified through Technology. The Human Beehive, is the ultimate wet dream of our criminal Master-manipulators, with hived workers scientifically disabled to rebel. (compare Brave New World.) Aldous Huxley foretold in 1958, later in 1962, that the next dictatorship will be a Scientific World Dictatorship. "People will be made to <love> their servitude..." One would hope that God by then will have nade his Big Move. Many steamless colleagues might think you, me, Crichton, are completely off their rocker, while if they read the documents and writings by those mentioned here in this post, they might judge differently. The latter will likely not happen. Oh - late for work! Be back later this week, probably towards the weekend. I hope the 'Next' download will finish. Otherwise a library try is on the cards. |

"The Egyptian" is still one of my favorites. <achieve> Yeah, they'll think we're crazy. Don't we want to be immortal? Don't we want Barney Frank to serve in Congress for 700 years? Thanks for the links, but there's no way I can get to them this week. Writing articles, new book, editing magazine... I'll be amazed if I ever dig myself out of this pile of work. Don't you just love the way Newt Gingrich passes himself off as a "conservative"? What does he think he's conserving? No--we're gonna save the planet and make ourselves into gods... and of course at the end there will be nothing but a heap of dead bodies to show for it. |

 | | playground player: <Esteemed colleagues> Some final thoughts on Michael Crichton's "Next"... I am not a conspiracy theorist. And in the case of our leaders in politics, science, business, education, and media, we are not looking at conspiracy, but rather at open rebellion against God's laws and sovereignty. That they are all mixed up together in the same bubbling pot does not constitute conspiracy, but rebellion. I mean, what's the point of a conspiracy that everyone can see? What I find most abhorrent about the whole business is the role of the simpering, accommodationist churches. There is more to be hoped for from an out-and-out unbeliever, than from these lukewarm churchmen and their deluded followers. Where is the thunder from the pulpit? Who dares to preach anymore, "Thus saith the Lord"? Wait and see. God is slow to anger--but don't mess with Him. |

Jun-25-11 | | cormier: <It is easy to see why the Rothschilds and their network of conventional western banks would be threatened by competition from the more appealing, more conservative Islamic banks>.
Late in 2008, French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde announced France’s intention to make Paris “the capital of Islamic finance” and said several Islamic banks would open branches in the French capital in 2009. French sources estimate this area of the financial market is worth from 500 to 600 billion dollars and <could grow by an average 11 percent a year>. John Sandwick, managing director of Swiss asset management firm Encore Management, characterized the opening of several Swiss Islamic banks as, “the race to control the rich prize: which today is worth hundreds of billions, but <in the future will be trillions of dollars of Islamic wealth>.” THE MEANS: SPONSOR PRO-DEMOCRACY ACTIVISTS
These Rothschild revolutions are done under the pretense of bringing democracy and deposing despots, but the real aim is to initially create chaos and a leadership vacuum, then quickly offer a solution: install a puppet that will do the economic bidding of the Rothschilds. <The citizens gain freedom of speech and association, but become economic serfs>. These revolutions are most likely coordinated at the highest levels by the <Rothschild’s International Crisis Group>. Mohamed ElBaradei is already being touted as a new leader for Egypt. <ElBaradei is a trustee of the International Crisis Group. Another board member of this group is Zbigniew Brzezinski. George Soros sits on the executive committee. The later two are ubiquitous front men for the Rothschilds>. The revolutions are from the same playbook as the fairly nonviolent “color revolutions”. These revolutions have been successful in Serbia (especially the Bulldozer Revolution (2000), in Georgia’s Rose Revolution (2003), in Ukraine’s Orange Revolution (2004), in Lebanon’s Cedar Revolution and (though more violent than the previous ones) in Kyrgyzstan’s Tulip Revolution (2005), and Tunisia’s Jasmine Revolution. Iran’s Green Revolution (2009) was unsuccessful. The Rothschilds want North African Muslims to borrow from Rothschild banks and pay interest at rates the Rothschild central bank decides: they do not want them to be able to borrow from <Islamic banks and not pay any interest>. The Rothschilds want Muslims to trade their present political oppression at the hands of brutal dictators for future economic serfdom under the control of banker Lord Rothschild. |

 | | playground player: <cormier> You do have a bee in your bonnet about the Rothschilds, don't you? Meanwhile, the idea of making France "the capital of Islamic finance" seems so suicidal, so rich in folly, as to be incredible. <Esteemed colleagues> Today I have decided to follow some good advice, and not comment on New York State's new same-sex "marriage" law while I am angry. But I really do believe our glorious, global humanist civilization is headed for the glue factory. The only comfort I find is in reflecting that God is sovereign over the earth, and He knows what He's doing. |
|
Jun-25-11 | | achieve: <pgp> While following my own advice, taking off 4-5 days, and trying to distance myself from conspiratory conspiracies I was reminded that "time off" is worth a million, and that the likes of Rockefeller do hide their plans in plain sight, so following that the only reason moderate conspiracy theorists are pushed off the bandwagon is by censored mediacoverage and the usual stigmatization. Actually one wouldn't want it any other way, as the total collapse of the current system is basically in the hands of a controlled "free press" to maintain the illusion of freedom and democratic power, while at the same time covering for the power brokers, corpo's and their lobbyists, who pay their salary. Ok Banks. Getting free from that indoctrination by INFORMATION surely is worth as much as the liberation by god's word and opposing satan in the christian doctrine. ? Btw - I have Crichton's NEXT downloaded in full on audio book, and will be listening to several chapters this weekend. <pgp> Good luck with your schedule; I'm pretty much booked as well. In case you didn't know; at the Bilderberg conference 2 weeks ago in Switzerland, 120+ of the most powerful figures in the world including the owning director of Facebook came together to further discuss behind closed doors how to further herd and enslave humanity. THEY HAD TO SIGN - all and every one individually - a SECRECY agreement, with many of those involved violating the Logan Act and european laws excluding ministers from participating in such secret meetings. The ESSENCE of conspiracy, and with you knowing in detail about the plans in store for us I'd expect you to simply accept the facts and denounce them for what they are: oppression and enslavement as a result of careful planning and conspiracy, purposefully misleading the populace with structures like the EU, Lisbon Treaty, and a recently signed Ex. Order by Obama forcing the rural population of the US to bow to UN regulations. |

(For the record, Obama is on par to match President Bush’s 291 orders executed during his two terms in office. The National Archives defines an Executive Order this way; Executive orders are official documents, numbered consecutively, through which the President of the United States manages the operations of the Federal Government.) President Obama’s E.O. 13575 is designed to begin taking control over almost all aspects of the lives of 16% of the American people. Why didn’t we notice it? Weinergate.> http://www.theblaze.com/stories/doe... I'm more troubled with how the "endgame" will turn out than I care to admit. My conviction is that the appropriate time to press the "reset" button is fleeing. If not fleeing the price will be incalculable and beyond estimation regarding tortured innocent lives. I'm equally interested if not more, not only in the outcome, but in that process since it should serve as a blueprint and ultimate answer to the age-old charge questioning the authority of the supposed sovereign. Perhaps i doubt that the suffering and dehumilization by design can ever be compensated by a _snap-of-the-finger New and happy universe, even according to Rev 21. I'm in doubt. Serious doubt, and can only find solace in day to day experiences of true love, and certain passages from the bible. It's ironically sardonic and sadistic to see the prophecy being carried out with *such* precision, lengthening and lengthening, like Habakuk says. |

 | | playground player: <OhioChessFan> We know how the game turns out: God, 1-0. Satan erased from the board. But getting there is going to be a rough ride for us poor pawns! <achieve> I find it hard to take the Bilderbergers seriously. They aspire to rule the world, but everything they touch turns to sh**. These smartest people in the world--Maurice Strong, Henry Kissinger, et al--are very likely the biggest idiots of all. Which of course doesn't prevent them from being able to do enormous harm. I understand they want us all to live in tiny "smart" houses with no air conditioning and no washer-dryers, and to travel--if we travel at all--by hanging onto the top of an overcrowded bus with squawking chickens in our faces. It's probably rather easy to achieve that, just by being incompetent and abysmally stupid. We needn't fight over what words we use to describe the same thing. I suppose fools can conspire together, believing themselves to be clever and subtle. I'm just waiting to see how high God lets them build this newest Tower of Babel before He knocks them down. |
|
Jun-25-11 | | achieve: <[...] These smartest people in the world--Maurice Strong, Henry Kissinger, et al--are very likely the biggest idiots of all.> That might be the largest misjudgement imaginable, for several reasons, one of them residing in a fundamental fallacy and inconsistency in deeming them "stupid" as compared to god's wisdom and power. By any other reasonable measurement they sit high atop any rule by man, degrading national and regional government of any kind to mere puppet theatre. I think we're hitting the same brick wall here, and I wish to not further detail this satanic sharade. The fact that the struggle as described in Rev 12 transpired in the fashion it did does make for a bloody finale, and i wish to by no means underestimate that, at their advantage. Bye for now. |
