Jun-17-07 | | WBP: <Dom> Chew on this: we're helping you catch up to <Wilson>! |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Oh <Dom's> not ignoring us he's probably just gone off to the shops to pick up some <gum>. |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: <Dole Banana> a new rival to <Dolce & Gabanna> ? |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Well, a <blog on chewing bum> is long overdue anyways, in my view. An Appalachian. |

 | | Domdaniel: <Deffi> No, I'm not and never really have been a Genesis fan. These days, I only listen to Scott Walker, John Cale, and Bach (as interpreted by Glenn Gould, ideally). Slightly broader taste in the past also included The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Captain Beefheart, Alberto y Los Trios Paranoias, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Nico, Joni Mitchell, The Sewing Room, The Only Ones, Zappa, kd Lang, Orb, Neil Young, Eno, Laibach, Rossini, Etron Fou Leloublan, Elvis Costello, John Prine, Princess Tinymeat, The Virgin Prunes, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, The Kinks, Syd Barrett, Ute Lemper, Johnny Cash, John Cooper Clarke, The Divine Comedy, Kevin Ayers, Robert Wyatt, Soft Machine, Matching Mole, The Temperance Seven, John Dowie, John Otway (for 'Beware of the Flowers cos I'm Sure They're Gonna Get You, Yeah') and, um, at an even younger age, the likes of Jethro Tull, Lindisfarne, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, and ... Neil Diamond. I'm sure I've forgotten many more. I've seen a lot of these play live, but I've met relatively few of them. A handful of interviews, maybe. And I lived with a couple of the more obscure ones. But I can't really pretend to have had much personal contact with the music world. And it's still the only significant artform that I refuse to write about. In case my iggernance shows. Vanity, my deah, vanity. |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> do you have me on <ignore> like <Whiteshark> does? Ok, I'll start over.
"G'day Dom, wonderful to have you back."
Maybe I shouldn't just barge into a party and start screaming at people, like I do in "real" life. |
Jun-17-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Deffi> There is a very simple and non-cryptic reason why <mack> is the mysterious <m> -- check his profile and you'll see why, I suspect. By analogy, <OD> would only work in your case if your "real" name happened to be Orison Delany, or Oberon Diwali, or Omicron Diogenes, or Otranto Dracula, or ... see what I mean? |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> sigh.
(goes for the fainting maiden in distress angle to get attention from Irish curmodgeon cum famous film writer) |
Jun-17-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> G'day. But don't leave yet, I've got simply mountains of correspondence to wade through here. And, as you know, I'm a retard among waders. Slow-wing, they called me, the old shags and cormorants, back in the birdy days. "Is it weakness of intellect, Birdy?"
"Aye, it is." |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Whew. Finally!
AWHOOOGA PERISCOPE DOWN!!DIVE, DIVE! |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: <and ... Neil Diamond> no need to be ashamed of it... and what!!?? no Elvis Costello ?? you seem to be an Elvis Costello type personage.. its ok you can admit to liking men with beards ;-p |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> my hat's off to you. You know full well the best way to get a woman's attention is to ignore her. Dom Bogart, they should call you. |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Deffi>
"Sometimes Entangled in your own dreams..." |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: ooh it was there... me tired eyes did not see it... i knew you liked Elvis Costello.. |
Jun-17-07 | | WBP: <Such things might be acceptable in surrealist art ... but seeing them manufactured, sold, and (presumably) used ... is a whole nother thing.> Agree. And where can I get one? |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: <I have people to do that for me> that's even more perv than doing it yerself... |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom>, yes, the product in question is WIDLEY available (get it??) In fact you can order a used on on <e-bay>, I believe. Is it Art if you don't sell it? |
Jun-17-07
 | | Domdaniel: Guess I should add an item to the music list:
No Pussyfooting, by Fripp & Eno |
Jun-17-07 | | WBP: <Dom> <Jess> You guys seem to know a lot about this item. Should we be worried? |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: oh yeah brilliant.. do you also like Talking Heads ? |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Do they have <Eno's Fruitsalts> in Ireland? We have it here. I think <Dave> has a glass every morning still. |
Jun-17-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Bill> you should always be worried. |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: <jess> they have it in India... |
Jun-17-07
 | | Open Defence: so now you know what Messrs Fripp and Eno were Frippin' on about eh Aye ? or is it Eye ? |
Jun-17-07
 | | Domdaniel: <people to do that for me>
Yes indeed, after this deplorable incident I imagine there will be a vacancy in this department. Applications welcome. Broad-mindedness an asset. (Et ass-mindedness abroad? Naah...) |
