 | | Penguincw: < OhioChessFan: ... I was suggesting <Penguin> offer bets on them for this game. I know the time issue. I don't have time for this game due to participating in the others. > Uh, so are you saying you want bets for the prediction contest (e.g. who will a gold medal?)? Uh, that would create a conflict of interest. For example, let's just say with just 1 round to go at the Moves Prediction Contest, I'm currently in line for 4 silvers. Then one bet comes up, asking "Will Penguincw win at least gold in the Moves Prediction Contest?" At that point, I could be like: okay, I'll dump 200 on "NO", and simply not post predictions. Of course, nothing is stopping you from running your own game on these sorts of predictions. It could also be a preseason bet, although the preseason rarely covers major tournaments. But I do have to wonder. What do you even do when the prediction contests are out? They only happen a few times a year, while the ChessBookie game runs for about 350+ days/year. |

Sep-03-15 | | sydbarrett: That's a second day of betting I've missed. I would have bet draw too. No lie. Perhaps break was good. |
|
Sep-03-15 | | sydbarrett: And I would have certainly bet on Nirvana for the computer match (I was a 90s kid lol). Missing out on all that won money |
|
Sep-04-15 | | sydbarrett: I wanted to bet last hour for the last two days... I woke up late and never realized those winning choices. I'm dipping in by betting earlier tonight. If I am jinxed and my bets backfire now that I actually participate, I will bash some random skulls here! |
|
Sep-04-15 | | sydbarrett: The World Cup is chock full of big names. Fun fun fun. Bring it on |
|
Sep-04-15
 | | Penguincw: Yes, I wasn't sure where to cut it off. I decided on top 13 players + "OTHER". Obviously, there are 14 lines, so the minimum bet is 3. However, if there are 15 lines, the minimum bet will be 2. |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: Guys, important annoucement regarding Portugal Open Rd 8: Spraggett - Ferreira. I incorrectly paid off the bet, sort of. So I was going to go pay it off as "draw", but instead of clicking "Payoff that line", I selected "This line loses" (basically). I then went to payoff that bet properly, hoping it would overwrite that mistake. I'm not sure if it actually did though. In other words: I accidently selected "loser" instead of "winner". I have since corrected that mistake, but if you honestly think something is wrong with your account, please mention so. Being serious here.

 | | Chessgames Bookie: Whoops, nevermind. False alarm. Everything should be good, hopefully. (I need to get my [display grawlixes here] together)

 | | FSR: Greenfeld, Alon vs Spraggett, Kevin [1/2-1/2]
Ferreira, Jorge vs Larino, David [1-0]
Epishin, Vladimir vs Gonzalez, Arian [1/2-1/2]
Looks like I finally made a few bucks on the Portugal Open. |
|
Sep-05-15 | | MarkFinan: And I might be getting closer to 0. Lol. You watch where I am at the end of the championship leg. I've only ever taken 2 legs seriously.. The 1st I came highest of the non 10000'ers and the 2nd leg I qualified. Frederick is yet to move an object using only his mind. |
|
Sep-05-15 | | MarkFinan: SETTLEMENT DATE: Sep-05-15

In the immortal words of LL cool J... Don't call it a comeback. Lol. |
|
Sep-05-15 | | MarkFinan: Are we having a P3 this round?? I'm going to start betting sensibly now I have some funds, that loanshark can take 30 cb's a day, I'll win it back. |
|
Sep-05-15 | | sydbarrett: We are to bet on little kiddies fighting each other to make money? This is horrible child exploitation of the worst kind |

R5 of the WJC will not have a P3. However, since you probably need one, I'll have one for R6. < sydbarrett: We are to bet on little kiddies fighting each other to make money? This is horrible child exploitation of the worst kind > Yes, because kids are more predictable than computers... |
|
Sep-05-15 | | sydbarrett: I notice a general chessgames problem. Java no longer supported. I can't see games anymore. |

Sep-06-15
 | | Penguincw: < sydbarrett: I notice a general chessgames problem. Java no longer supported. I can't see games anymore. > You mean like viewing games on chessgames.com, or perhaps viewing games here: http://tcec.chessdom.com/live.php. (this isn't a chessbookie problem, isn't it)
I'm going to assume you mean you can't view any games on this site. Yeah, I hear that problem a lot. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, since it doesn't affect me. Try asking your question here: chessgames.com chessforum. |
|
Sep-06-15 | | sydbarrett: Sorry for being a bit vague there. Yes it's a Chessgames question, not ChessBookie.
This site is still incomparable when it comes to viewing historic games. I was using it solely for that purpose for many years before I joined the ChessBookie game. I don't get why all the major browsers have such hatred for Java. Google Chrome apparently stopped supporting Java as of the last two days. |
|
Sep-06-15 | | MarkFinan: Pengerz.. Thanks. I'd appreciate it if you did bring it back, I plan on being the Lazarus of this leg, lol. <Google Chrome apparently stopped supporting Java as of the last two days.> Is that why I'm having problems downloading games? Normally you download a game and it gives you the option of which app (Droidfish or a PGN Viewer) to open the game with, now I don't have that option and I'm having to copy and paste the pgn of a game onto my clipboard and go through it that way. Basically I know nothing about all this technology, the only things I really know how to use are Android phones! |
|
Sep-06-15 | | sydbarrett: Re: Mark
I never download a game to view it, whether on laptop browser or on phone browser. I just view it on the browser directly, and that involves Java, which Google Chrome just banned (you have to use another browser now to view games Java-style).
Since you download games and use PGN viewers/apps, it sounds like you are bypassing Java, so whatever is bugging you is probably a different issue... maybe someone else here can give a second opinion. |

 | | Penguincw: ♔ REQUESTS ♔
<Mark>, I heard you need a Pick Three: World Junior Championship Rd 6: Pick Three. <syd> I heard you're a fan of Nirvana: TCEC Season 8 Stage 1b: Nirvana - Nightmare. Everyone else, here's your regular game bet: World Junior Championship Rd 6: Levia - Bluebaum. |
|
Sep-06-15
 | | Penguincw: <syd>, I believe it's your turn to fire back at <FSR>: < (4) sydbarrett 8,166
(5) FSR 8,103 >
BTW: There's less than a month left of the leg. |
|
Sep-06-15 | | sydbarrett: Forget Fred, he's not my main focus anymore, that amateur ;-) |
|
Sep-06-15 | | sydbarrett: Ya thank for the Nirvana bet but it looks like everyone is hopping on that bandwagon after I was an original fan. Fakers. i wish i had placed those early round bets when i had the chance |
