Championships

<National> Jumabayev placed 3rd in the Kazakhstan championship 2007, 2nd in the Kazakhstan championship 2009. Kazakhstan Champion in 2014 and 2017.

<Continental and World> He qualified through the Asian Continental Championship 2011 for the World Cup (2011), but bowed out to French super-GM Laurent Fressinet in the first round. He qualified via Zone 3.4 for the World Cup (2015) and was eliminated when he lost his first round match to Pavel Eljanov.

Jumabayev scored a major upset by eliminating Fabiano Caruana, then ranked #2 in the world, in the third round of the World Cup (2021). He was eliminated in the following round by Sam Shankland.

Standard Tournaments

1st at Gyumri 2009, 2nd in Agzamov Memorial 2010 held in Uzbekistan, 1st at Open de Sants 2017.

Rapid and Blitz

  Tabanus: FIDE has him as Rinat Jumabayev. In the Gyumri tournament 2009 (see picture) he is named Zhumabayev.
