Sarimanok: <talchess2003>what leads you to that assumption?

Dec-10-03 Pillsbury vs Lasker, 1896 (replies)

Sarimanok: Thank you Shadout Mapes. It was a very interesting game. Pillsbury exacting revenge to Lasker.

Sarimanok: Why not 7...Nxd4?

   Dec-10-03 F J Lee vs Lasker, 1899 (replies)

Sarimanok: A nice and interesting example of a positional buildup to a fine combination. 37...Rd4 was a very nice move.

Sarimanok: <Kaspablanca>Interesting Question, i have no idea.

   Dec-08-03 Serafino Dubois (replies)

Sarimanok: Maybe he is an Immortal from the Highlander series.

   Dec-08-03 Wilhelm Steinitz (replies)

Sarimanok: It means that that it is much harder to play good positional chess than to spot a brilliant combination. Accdg to Steinitz.

   Dec-08-03 S Dubois vs Steinitz, 1862 (replies)

Sarimanok: <Shadout Mapes> Thanks for the interesting point.

   Dec-07-03 Steinitz vs A Mongredien, 1862 (replies)

Sarimanok: A nice example on how to exploit inferior play by establishing a strong position. I would prefer 3...Qa5. Then establish a carokann formation.

Dec-07-03 Paulsen vs Morphy, 1857 (replies)

Sarimanok: 12...Qd3! is a beautiful move indeed. 12 d3 is called for in order to develop white's dark square bishop. A good lesson on the importance of opening development.
