   Aug-19-04 H Humburg vs W Mandel, 1965 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: yeah. you're right. after 10...kxf7 11.ne6 black looses his queen or gets in a mating net.

   Aug-19-04 vs ,  (replies)

Peter Trujillo: there is no checkmate. white wins a piece. some variations. (10...Qxe3 11.Qd8#)(10...Qxc6 11.Bb5) (10...Qc7 11.Ncxe5)

Aug-19-04 Fischer vs Auner, 1960 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: whites 10th move is a perminant sacrifice. White gets a big attack and a sustained initiative. Blacks moves from now on must be extremely accurate. White will eventually win back the material. I would not like to play the black pieces in this position, however black should ...

   Aug-19-04 B Wall vs R Monahan, 1972 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: an interesting game. very similar to some I have seen before in the danish gambit. However,I don't think that the pawn sacrifices are justified. black blundered away this game.

   Aug-18-04 Tal vs I Miglans, 1950 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: Tals opening was very strong. blacks play was very bad right from the start. 20...Rxe5 was the final mistake. the loose rook announces the following bishop sac. All of whites sacrifices are very simple. this just shows you how not to play the black side of this opening.

Aug-18-04 Tal vs Pliss, 1950 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: tal played for complications. under a time limit this is not such a bad idea. maybe he would have lost if it were a correspondence game. personally, I don't like unsound sacrifices. Even though tals moves might not have been the best, I like the game. It offers good practice ...

Aug-18-04 Tal vs Leonov, 1949 (replies)

Peter Trujillo: 19. Rf6, is a very hard move to find. as the rook can be captured by the black knight and the black pawn. I think finding the correct variations after either capture is very good practice.
