redorc19: I saw up to 31. Kg1 but missed 31...Rg2+ forcing mate. I thought that there would be some form of easy counterplay I missed, but unfortunately my lazyness didn't pay off. Blacks 31st move just seems like a patzer's kind of useless check which instructors warn us woodpushers ...

   Apr-19-11 Khalifman vs I Bukavshin, 2011 (replies)

redorc19: <Once> Referring to your comment on luck in chess: I disagree. To me, there is no luck in chess, only logic, observation and calculation. Finding the correct move to me isn't luck, but a certain feeling which many players like Capablanca have. The question, therefore, is... ...

   Apr-14-11 Ruy Lopez (C60) (replies)

redorc19: how would you respond to 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Qf6?! which is the line my brother plays? 4. 0-0 seems unnecessary and I try 4. Nc3 a6. I think Black just trys to not get doubled pawns, but the defense seems passive and 4. Nc3 a6 5. Nd5! seems to refute it with slight ...
