<TD> Great success!

I just placed an order online to get a BluRay copy of "Dark City" on 1080 "pee" whatever that is.

Frankly I was a little hesitant to ask what "pee" meant, but minor point, minor point.

technical draw: <jfq> 1080 pee means you have to go to the bathroom before watching the movie because, well, because it is so scary you might have an accident.

Thanks for that trailer. However watching the trailer will not give you any idea what the movie is about. Do not watch it alone!

<Technical Movie Information>

Thank you! The "pee" instruction will come in handy because I had been planning to drink a flat of ale before starting the film.

I did not watch the trailer! I never watch trailers because they have spoilers.

I never watch films alone, preferring to watch with my trusty tufted rock hyrax "Steve."

Here is a recent photo of Steve:

technical draw: Yikes! <jfq> Give us a warning. Steve scared the bejesus out of me.

A movie trivia I learned today: Jean Claude VanDamn's first movie role was in the movie Monaco Forever. He was billed as "Gay Karate Guy". I think he got a new agent after that.

<TD> on a *very* rare serious note, the <Johnny Albino> bolero you posted is delightful! I am currently listening to it on a playback loop, and may spend several hours on this setting.

It's delightful and soulful at the same time which is harder to pull off than people might think.

"Cosa como tu"?

Resorting to the Google Spanish-English translator would be "jejune," so I will attempt a translation:

"You! Come over to my house!"

Oct-20-21
Premium Chessgames Member
technical draw: <jfq> Here I'll give a hand: "Cosas como tu" means "things like you." (It doesn't sound so romantic in English, Spanish is the true language of love)

Things like you are to be loved, things like you are to be desired, things like you are to be safeguarded in the heart, etc

Spanish trio music is the most romantic music in the world. One song, one dance, one kiss, and it's amor, amor, amor!

technical draw: Remember when I posted the video about synchronous clapping? It was amazing and anti-intuitive. Well the explanation was not too sciency but this one involving the lunar orbits is:

Good luck understanding it.

Would resorting to a dictionary to find out what "jejune" means be jejune?

  jessicafischerqueen:

<TD> Yes, it would!

Proving you already know what "jejune" means.

===============

On synchronous clapping explanation, I can help on that because thanks to you I have become fluent in Spanish in the last three hours.

When women congregate in close quarters for a long time, their "orbits" *cough* tend to...

Ok bad example for a family friendly forum.

The mechanism behind orbital resonance clapping tends to "ring in" Saturn and other unruly plants and forces them to gap the orbital period *cough* when it becomes close to the tangent.

It's a great video <TD> I love Steve Mould and his friends especially Veristasum's youtube channel. I have never understood one thing either has said.

UNTIL NOW.

Armed with a more sophisticated Spanish vocabulary, I believe I have solved the mystery.

1. Watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyn...

2. Then, say "orale."

3. Finish

technical draw: One of my favorite persons is June. June Jones that is. What is so special about June Jones you ask? Well June is a man! A football coach no less. When first asked on TV what his name was he stuttered, "Jejune". The reporter then said, "Thank you, this has been Mmike Wwallace reporting."

I'm so jejune.

technical draw: Well, I just came back from the doctor. He doubled my blood pressure medication (well actually from once a day 20mg to 20mg twice a day.) He saw me a little agitated so he wrote for Xanax 1 mg as needed. I guess for my age it was a good visit. It could have been worse like electroshock treatment or worse, chess.

I checked out some cool boleros and will be posting them as soon as I have a good selection.

The last name Albino in Spanish is pronounced Al-BEE-Know. However there is also a non-Spanish last named spelled the same way but pronounced Al-BUY-Know, yes the same way as the medical condition.

In fact when I was in the Army there was another GI named Albino and I used to bother him by calling him Al-BEE-Know. He would yell back, AL-BUY-Know!! I just made sure there were no grenades around.
