Aug-19-08 Adams vs Van Wely, 2008 (replies)

skakmiv: Well, a draw in the last round secured Adams the tournament win.

   Aug-16-08 I Sokolov vs Mamedyarov, 2008 (replies)

skakmiv: Then 14...Rb8 and when the bishop moves, Nxc4.

   Jul-04-08 Peter Leko (replies)

skakmiv: Hope that Leko wins tomoorow against Gustafsson. I have just watched some videos of Leko on youtube. He seems to be very calm, relaxed and sympathetic. He was once a very serious candidate for the World Championship. I hope that he can regain some of his lost confidence after ...

skakmiv: Recently, I could have ended up as black in this endgame: [DIAGRAM] White to move. As I am no endgame expert, I would like to hear, whether you think black could have hold this pawn endgame.

Sep-11-07 Geller vs Petrosian, 1956 (replies)

skakmiv: <16...Nc6?! is inferior to 16...b6 17.a4 Rae8 18.Ba3 Rf6 19.Rfe1 Qf7 20.Nf1 Rfe6 according to Max Euwe.> What's the point of 16...b6?

Aug-04-07 F Vallejo Pons vs Radjabov, 2005 (replies)

skakmiv: When 56...Rh7, then 57. Qxh7+! Kxh7 58. Ng5+ with a nasty fork.

Jul-21-07 Botvinnik vs Smyslov, 1957 (replies)

skakmiv: Why draw here? Isn't black about to win an exchange?

   Jul-16-07 L Monosson vs M Fauque, 1935 (replies)

skakmiv: Heh, I think I have fallen for this once or twice in blitz games, mindlessly busting out the usual moves of the Tiger opening or whatever it is called.

   Jul-11-07 Petrosian vs G Kasparian, 1946 (replies)

skakmiv: Well, black couldn't use the a-file for any useful purpose anyway. 27.Rab1 puts pressure on the backwarded b-pawn. 27. d6 allows black's knight to get to e6 and then into d4, which is a nice outpost for the knight.

   Jun-29-07 K Spraggett vs D Barlov, 1987 (replies)

skakmiv: What's the point of a move like 12.Ra3?
