sally: If 24. Qxg2 then 24...Qa5.

   Dec-27-03 F J Perez vs J Fernandez Pereda, 1947 (replies)

sally: Looks like 12...Rh8 would have saved it for black?

   Dec-07-03 Jose Raul Capablanca (replies)

sally: I'd rather be Botvinnik. It's better to be feared than loved. Botvinnik also had better hair and better suits. And I'd rather be Capablanca, of course. Fischer is insane. So my preferences would have nothing to do with the relative laziness of the players in question.

   Nov-30-03 Petrosian vs G Kuzmin, 1974 (replies)

sally: I don't understand why black starts weakening his kingside (and giving white time to develop the QB) with 21...g6. The natural 21...Nc5 looks stronger to me. After 22. Qxd7 Rxd7 what can white do? 23. Ne1 is well met by 23...Na6. What am I overlooking?

sally: To preserve my soul vs. Satan I vote for Deep Blue. The devil is a psychologist. He succeeds by exploiting the foibles and weaknesses of the the human ego. I cannot imagine ol' Nick being very motivated to play a machine, nor would his methods be effective.
