   Jul-11-16 Tal vs R Bogdanovic, 1967 (replies)

rollingrook5: Phony Benoni: The pun dates back to the Ancient Middle East, in the days when there were so many invading armies it was hard to tell them apart. It got to the point where one man's Mede was another man's Persian. I don't know if that's yours, but it sure made my day. Years ago ...

Mar-07-16 Lasker vs Hyde / Bolus / Bodfish, 1897 (replies)

rollingrook5: Bodfish evaluated the craziness beginning with Bxg4 as losing for Black, however, not much faith was placed in engines in those days :)

   Feb-25-16 N Zhukova vs N Dzagnidze, 2016 (replies)

rollingrook5: I agree. Terrific handling of the pieces vs. Q.

   Feb-08-16 G Nagy vs H Cordes, 2016

rollingrook5: Nice fighting game from Black here. I always like to see the Tarrasch win.

   Feb-08-16 A Gravett vs A Compton, 2016

rollingrook5: Tarrasched.

   Jan-06-16 Bernard Cafferty (replies)

rollingrook5: How nice to see that this man is still playing Hastings into his 80s, in a career that spans 7 decades. That conveys true passion for the game.

   Sep-02-15 J Brenninkmeijer vs J Piket, 1987

rollingrook5: This game appears in Junior Tay's Old Indian book which just came out. Slow motion savagery.

   Aug-31-15 Petar Trifunovic (replies)

rollingrook5: I've heard of a Trifunovic variation in the Alekhine for Black. It's specifically 5... Bf5 and maybe 6... e6 against the 4 pawns attack. Funny, I can only find games with 4. Nf3. Maybe it's another Trifunovic?

   Jun-03-15 O Dementiev vs Karpov, 1970 (replies)

rollingrook5: The way White plays this is one of the reasons the exd6 exchange line is played much more often these days.

   May-30-15 S Prokofiev vs M Ravel, 1924 (replies)

rollingrook5: Black had heard of Lizst but here he's just dead Lozst.
