Nov-28-15 W Ju vs A Stefanova, 2014

rickycota: I really don't get it. All moves seem natural to me, normal continuation. Great game but not puzzle material in my opinion. |

Oct-28-15 H Melkumyan vs C Li, 2011
|
rickycota: I don't know if all moves are good for black but this is one of the most entertaining games I've seen. Really great queen sacrifice (apparently). |

rickycota: 31...Nh4 and trapping the queen and that should be it |

Sep-11-15 Kasparov vs A Galle, 1976
|
rickycota: Game of the day? Really? Very simple, Kasparov wins a pawn, exchanges everything, gets a passed pawn on the A file against pawns on the other side of the board and that´s it. It´s a nice game, but not game of the day quality. There´s a lot more interesting games. |

Sep-02-15 Carlsen vs Nakamura, 2015
|
rickycota: Magnus Had to keep his rook on the board with the 2 bishops. Move 39.Be3 was the draw. 39.Ba4 would have give him a lot more to play with and win. Even the best miss something every once in a while. Still rooting for Chucky! |

Feb-21-15 J A Dill vs R Singh, 2008
|
rickycota: Well, at least they got be at the Olympiad but these is a horrible white scilian game IMO. Not to mention that lifeless ending |

Feb-21-15 Alekhine vs Colle, 1925
|
rickycota: <PhonyBenoni> Yeah, I could see that it was a win after hxg6 but fxg6 was more than Very Hard indeed. With engine help after 29...fxg6 30. Qe6+ the best option is Rf7. If 30...Kf8 31. Rc4 Rxd5 32. Rf4+ Rf5 33. Re5 and the queen is lost and white wins.
Now if 30...Rf7 31. Rc8 |
