pts92: 31. Bh6 is just a killer move. I wish I could find this kind of moves in my blitz games... at 31. I would probably think between hxg6 or moving the queen...

pts92: I didn't understand anything from this game :))

pts92: Thank you very much <MaczynskiPratten> 20.Qd5 really stops all white's playy, wiht a slightly better position for black I would say. i was surprised too that spielman didn't play 20.Qe5, but i kinda expected such a clear refutation.

pts92: I tend to often arrive at this kind of position, but rarely do I play such a nice clean combination. Maybe I should learn more from Speelman. Kind like a Morphy win against the lesser oponents he faced in general.

pts92: I think this game proves that Garry was the best player of all time. The move 12.Nd5 is just insane. after that , further sacrifices made by garry assure the victory. he's the best. Bottvinnik said about Garry "the future of chess lies in this young man's hands" when Kasparov was only

pts92: could someone tell me why black resigned here ? what's white's threat ?

   Oct-10-09 Carlsen vs A Groenn, 2005 (replies)

pts92: I find the mating position extreamely beautiful. Carlsen's play as a kid looks like Morphy's at his prime. Maybe I exagerate a bit, but Carlsen seems a worthy succesor of the great Morphy.

pts92: I am amazed of the deepness of Grandmaster's ideas. I never could have seen the variations arising from 21. e5. I thought of the move, but even the 2nd move of the variations gave me a hard time, what to say about the rest of 5-6-7 moves thought in advance by Salov :)) .

pts92: sorry, the move Bxh4 doesn't force a draw, it loses. I totally ignored 35. .. Bxh4, 36.Rxf8 Bg3, 37.Nd3 with great advantage to white.

pts92: nisipeanu is best
