   Dec-28-10 R Garcia vs Mecking, 1966 (replies)

nimzo knight: Presence of no alternative threat made the puzzle solvable. There was no mating possibility for black. All other white pieces were nicely secure. It leaves only two possibility play for the draw or trap the rook. I looked for knight maneuvers to get at rook. But realized ...

   Sep-23-10 V Klasan vs G N Gopal, 2010

nimzo knight: why not 28.Qa4

May-27-10 Anand - Topalov World Championship Match (2010) (replies)

nimzo knight: Topalove needs to learn the word called "PROFESSIONALISM". Please don't worry about visitors coming to this site and being misinformed. I m sure our young readers know, that a winner is a winner, and good team selection is no crime.

   Jan-13-10 U Kavcic vs D Pavasovic, 1998 (replies)

nimzo knight: This was White to play last night and spent so much time looking at it. Come on CG.

   Jan-12-10 Motylev vs B Ivanovic, 2000 (replies)

nimzo knight: I started out looking to move the black queen to get Rxd8 followed by Qb6, forking rook and knight. However, I realized after h4 queen has no good squares to land on & it's a queen trap puzzle.

Dec-28-09 Robatsch vs Jansa, 1974 (replies)

nimzo knight: Took me over a minute. Thankfully didn't get embarrassed on last Monday of the month.

Dec-02-09 Bird / Dobell vs Gunsberg / Locock, 1897 (replies)

nimzo knight: Knowing theme of the week helped :)

Nov-08-09 Kramnik vs Svidler, 2009 (replies)

nimzo knight: Is it the same Vladimir Kramnik we used to know. Boy, given that opening choice, with uncastled king and all out attack on kingside from the word go, I would have never guessed it to be VK playing white.

   Sep-23-09 D Semcesen vs N Grandelius, 2009 (replies)

nimzo knight: Got it! Nice move Qh6. First worked on Nh6+ but nothing much came out of it. The Queen was under attack so it is an important hint that Queen will have to move.

Sep-22-09 Kasparov vs Karpov, 2009 (replies)

nimzo knight: Any computer evals after 22. Nf6+ are there any possible defenses.
