Apr-15-17 S Lu vs Yiyi Xiao, 2016 (replies)

nazgulord: <detritus> I made the same error of Bf6. I thought threatening mate would be the best way to open the line of attack on the back rank, but I was wrong.

   Mar-12-17 I Nikolayev vs M Gregory, 2007 (replies)

nazgulord: Well, I thought the clue might be referring to the June 1975 Portoroz tournament, which Karpov entered after Fischer forfeited his title (their match was supposed to start on June 1st). But none of Karpov's games in that tournament are the answer.

Feb-29-16 Bronstein vs Ljubojevic, 1973 (replies)

   Apr-08-15 V Chekhover vs F Duz-Khotimirsky, 1949 (replies)

nazgulord: Saw this almost immediately, unlike yesterday, though like <morfishine> I completely missed Qh7. Thanks to <Once> for discussing it.

   Mar-23-15 E Garcia vs M Preuss, 2005 (replies)

nazgulord: Interesting...I seem to be the only one who went for Bh6+. I missed g5 as a response, but the result is the same whether it's played or not as after Bxg5+, the only options are Rd2 or Qd2, pinning the piece and allowing Qxc2#. Complete line: 26...Bh6+ 27. g5 (Qxh6? Qxc2#) Bxg5+ ...
