Feb-23-10 Karpov vs Sax, 1983 (replies)

mendellevin: Karpov at his best. A great game.

Jan-23-10 Short vs Kramnik, 2010 (replies)

mendellevin: Nxg7 QxN a7 QxQ a8Q!

Nov-08-09 Kamsky vs Kasparov, 1992 (replies)

mendellevin: What a piece of art, so simple and logical

Nov-06-09 Carlsen vs Morozevich, 2009 (replies)

mendellevin: Is kh2-g3-f4 a possibility here?

   Oct-29-09 Grischuk vs Sasikiran, 2008

mendellevin: what am I missing here?

Oct-01-09 Jakovenko vs Carlsen, 2009 (replies)

mendellevin: Like Chanco, I thought of Lasker when I played through this game.

Sep-12-09 Ivanchuk vs Leko, 2009 (replies)

mendellevin: This is an instructive game and in my understanding arnaud1959 is excatly right. Chucky shows that the knight is stronger than the bishop when the squares that the bishop cannot reach are weakened. To me that is the lesson of the game?

May-11-09 Staunton vs NN, 1868 (replies)

mendellevin: Still, Staunton's long term sacrifice is bold and interesting (and modern?).

May-07-09 Karpov vs Kasparov, 1985 (replies)

mendellevin: Agree with vaselinetoplove; this is a masterpiece of the highest rank. The fact that black is weak on the white squares means that threats can be mounted that leaves room for the rook to enter the fight. So logical.

   Apr-20-09 I Nei vs Petrosian, 1946 (replies)

mendellevin: Petrosian is one of my favorite players, not boring at all.
