general607: Okay... I almost always get the Mon, Tuesday and Wed puzzles, but this one is too easy. I found numerous nice moves, but Qd6 winning a piece screamed out loud. Very easy for a Wed.

general607: got this one very quickly... wish I had the skill to get to move 117 with either of these guys!

general607: I got 15,,,, Nxf2 16. Qxf2 Rxe3 17. Rxe3 Qf4 and then after some queen move, recover the rook, but could see no further. I gave up on the line and just said "Punt" since it did not seem to give more than a minor advantage... I guess that's why I'm 1547 instead of 2547...

general607: I found the main kine 1. ..Rxc4 2. Qxc4 Ne3 3. fxe3 Bxe3+ 4. Kf1 Qf3+ 5. Ke1 Qf2# very quickly, but like a genuine patzer, I looked no further into the many variations black might play. Does this line count as 'solved' or do I get just half credit?

   Feb-12-08 J Pinter vs Larsen, 1982 (replies)

general607: This one is tougher than most Tuesday challenges. I found the key move, Rxg6 quickly, but only found the mates as I analyzed it deeper. I thought for a moment that Kf7 might hold, then found the mating line there too. Nice multi-option mating problem. I don't see any way out... I

   Feb-11-08 E Diemer vs R A Fuller, 1957 (replies)

general607: That took about two seconds... fine example of a tactical death blow.

Feb-08-08 Zappa vs Crafty, 2005 (replies)

general607: I "missed" this one, but found an excellent move anyway based on the same ideas as uin the game... I played Ba2+ expeting Kh8 followed by Rd5 to win the knight... Fridays... In all seriousness, I agree with other posts,, there are many winning moves here.

Feb-07-08 Karpov vs Shirov, 2000 (replies)

general607: I broke my own rule of always having several candidate moves. I never really considered anything other than 50...., Qf3 with the followup 51.... f6+ when 52. Qxf6 leads to Qg4# -- this is the easiest Thursday puzzle I've seen in my short time visiting the site.

Feb-06-08 Keres vs Korchnoi, 1959 (replies)

general607: This is a Wed. puzzle? I found Ng4, BxN and hxB with the intended follow ups almost immediately. I found myself looking around to see if there was anything more interesting... Hoe I didn't miss anything... Okay, after h3, I think I like the reply g3 to prevent the counterplay as ...

Feb-05-08 Shamkovich vs Tukmakov, 1970 (replies)

general607: I found Ra7 quickly, but took a minute or so to verify Kg2-f3 or h3 depending on black's choices -g4 following the rook checks outlined in other posts. Good game.
