devioustalfan: <WinKing:...GMMU did a good job of keeping us off balance by playing moves that were not always the first choice of the engines but effective none the less.> Has no one but me read Amatiza Avini's "Devious Chess"? It's good for anybody and enough people thinking like ...

devioustalfan: 3...d6 has no point in my view other than restricting the kings bishop. 3...e6 however frees up queen and bishop. its too late for a proper Dragon, which would give us space. however 3..d6 does provide against 4...Nf6 5. e5 not that it makes 3...d6 any better

devioustalfan: why not an earlier ...b3 form geller(ie move 16?) and why not an earlier Q-check on the h-file (ie move 38?)

Jul-11-08 Bobotsov vs Tal, 1958 (replies)

devioustalfan: boo <RookFile>! Tal was a genius! The Q-sac was brilliant along w/ the knight sac on move 13. The rook capture was forced and he wins the Exchange and gains the attack!

   Jul-11-08 A Dunkelblum vs Petrosian, 1962

devioustalfan: <Alphastar> <Semi Tarrasch> maybe its that in the Semi tarrasch ...c5 is delayed one move? <Draw> i agree on Possibility A.

Jul-08-08 Kasparov vs Anand, 1995 (replies)

devioustalfan: <whiteshark>the knight move 27.Ne5 was an OFFER not sac in my book as the knight was never taken.
