black knight c6: 29...Be2 30. Qxe2 Qxd6 31. Rh6 also looks ok, not sure whether ... f6 or Kg7 looks better, I can see good lines for white in both. I love how white keeps on putting his rooks right next to the black king, but they're all poisonous.

black knight c6: A more interesting point to me then the 20 or so explanations of the puzzle move (do we need that many....) Can anyone explain the exact reasoning behind a move like 13. ... Bxe2 ? This is the sort of move I am most interested in.

black knight c6: Thanks Karpova, I'm pretty sure I looked at c3 again but I can't have looked nearly enough. Interesting combination for that game then!

black knight c6: I am pretty sure either Be5+ or Bxd6 wins by force through such threats as Rf7+, e5 and Qd3+, etc. I like Bxd6 the best. An engine would probably sort this out in a matter of minutes.

black knight c6: <xrt999>As <<eternaloptimist>> said, its a transposed dutch going into the stonewalsih type variation.

   Mar-14-08 Caruana vs K Arakhamia-Grant, 2008

black knight c6: I'd say the game is over after 33. Nd5 if not sooner. After this move it becomes clear that white's minor pieces will become useful, and black's useless. Black's good minor piece, his white bishop, must be traded off for a knight, after which his black bishop and knight are ...

black knight c6: On the 15. ... Nxe5 matter, what's wrong with white's variation here: 16. Nxe5 Bxe5 17. Bxe5 Qxe5 18. Rbe1 Qc7 (Qg7 19. Re7) (other queen moves may be possible here?) 19. Qg5 Be6 (any others?) 20. Rxe6 fxe6 21. Bxe6+ Kg7 22. Rxf8 Kxf8 23. Qf6+ Ke8 24. Qh8+ Ke7 25. Qg7+ Kd6 ...

black knight c6: <mistreaver> My only guess is that white saw after the sac that he didn't have as big an attack as planned (as is so often the case) and his best move then was the queen trade. I think this is one of the best refutations to the king's gambit (which is sad because I ...

black knight c6: <JG27Pyth> As in my and RandomVisitor's lines, 22. ... Rg6 is better, leading to a draw with 22.Bc2 Rg6 23.Bxg6 fxg6 24.Nf4 Qf6 25.Nxg6+ Kg8 26.Ne7+ Kh8 27.Ng6+ or perhaps something else with 25. ... Qxg6 26.Qxg6 Bxf2 27.Rxf2 Bxg6 28.Rd6 Kg7 which I was/am asking ...

   Jan-06-08 A Greet vs B Chatalbashev, 2007 (replies)

black knight c6: 9. e6 looks very interesting, but to my analysis leads to a forced draw by white, I don't think his attack is good enough, at least not that I can see. Alot of interesting forced lines though. My main line was 9. ... fxe6 10. Ng5 Nxd4 11. Bxg6 etc.
