Dec-12-24 Chigorin vs Steinitz, 1892 (replies)

Raconteur: The Seed of Sorrow is planted with 22...h4. Exchange the N for the g3 Bishop and all is fine for Black.

Oct-15-24 Timman vs Petrosian, 1973 (replies)

Raconteur: Ridiculous that a young Timman basically refuses to play an ex-world champion, total waste of an opportunity. Timman played a few more ultra-short, contentless games in this tournament, bizarre.

Feb-20-24 G Estevez Morales vs Karpov, 1973 (replies)

Raconteur: Also: just not a very impressive game as the first step on the road to the world title.

   Mar-22-23 Kramnik vs Q Setien, 2002

Raconteur: Former FC Barcelona coach Quique Setien, not a bad player!

   Sep-21-22 A Yusupov vs Y Dokhoian, 1993

Raconteur: Another one of those wonderful tactical explosions Yusupov was sometimes capable of.

Sep-15-22 Nicolas vs M de Agustin, 1943 (replies)

Raconteur: White player is lke 1700

   Sep-15-22 Salov vs P Nikolic, 1989

Raconteur: Man, those guys were boring compared to 19th or 21st century chess players, they had none of the courage or none of the claculating abilities respectively.

Sep-15-22 Sax vs Karpov, 1989 (replies)

Raconteur: OKay, so you get the chance o play a (world) champion with white, and then what you choose to do is play a wimpy, coward theoretocal draw variation? Thank god chess has changed these days. Not one of th top players would back off like a scared little dog like this.

   Sep-15-22 Andersson vs Huebner, 1989

Raconteur: The two most boring and cowardly chessplayers of the 80´s in a game. Unbelievable that daw after draw after boring draw they kept being invited to big tournaments.

Mar-22-22 Karpov vs Timman, 1990 (replies)

Raconteur: Stockfish 14 shows that Timman missed a draw two moves before resigning wth 73...b3! After this game the match was basically over.
