Pawn Slayer: Didn't see it. I went 40....a4, which i still think wins.

Oct-21-23 Areshchenko vs Sutovsky, 2005 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: Didn't get this. I went 18....Rxf2+. I thought it won and I still think it does.

   Sep-25-23 A Manea vs C Nanu, 2001 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I chose h3. Simple and decisive.

   Sep-14-23 K Darga vs J Durao, 1963 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I chose 22...c6, which is crushing.

   Aug-30-23 G Fuster vs J Durao, 1958 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: 28.....Rxe3 screams at you. White can't take the queen on c7 because of the discovered check, so has to play 29 Qxe3 and after 29....Bxe3+, white is completely busted.

   Aug-21-23 M A Tabatabaei vs Baklan, 2015 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I played 26 ...Bc5+ and didn't really look at any other move. It's crushing.

   Aug-06-23 E Meduna vs V Inkiov, 1988 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I saw the game line until black's 43rd move. Instead of 43...Nf2+, I chose 43 ...Rxd3. White's best appears to be 44 Rxh4 Rxd4 45 cxd4 Bc8 followed by Bf5, when white's rook would appear helpless against the B,N and 2 passed pawns. Does that win or has white a reply?

Jul-19-23 Azmaiparashvili vs Shirov, 1990 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I went 37 ....Rb1, which I think is equally effective.

Nov-20-22 Ivanchuk vs L Bruzon Batista, 2005 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I'm surprised Stockfish chooses Qxe1+. It wins, but I think R(a)-c6 is at least as strong.

   Sep-27-22 S Ernst vs A Baldus, 2001 (replies)

Pawn Slayer: I went 34Nf6+ Kxg7 35 Nd5 and didn't look any further as it wins outright, with white having Q, B and N v 2 Rs. Perhaps I should have remembered Fischer's famous maxim: "If you see a good move, don't play it: there might be a better one".
