Neil Ferde has kibitzed 13 times to chessgames   [more...]
   Jun-09-08 Leko vs X Bu, 2008

Neil Ferde: Mate can be avoided with RxB at c3, but QxR(e1), followed by QxB+, then advancement of the e pawn likely wins.

Jun-06-08 Van Wely vs S Rahmanov, 2008 (replies)

Neil Ferde: I don't understand this game. Why not 27...RxR+?

   Feb-08-08 Zvjaginsev vs I Popov, 2008 (replies)

Neil Ferde: <Johnboy> I think after 30....Qxf2+, 31.RxQ,PxR+, 32.Kf1,Rc1+, 33. Kg2(or e2) P queens with check and mate to follow, or 32. Kh2, Rbxd8, and 33. ...f1(Q) with 4 pawns up and the white king in more danger

Aug-07-07 Petrosian vs Gligoric, 1973 (replies)

Neil Ferde: if 44. Rd1, then Rxd1+

   Jul-08-07 Kasimdzhanov vs Naiditsch, 2006

Neil Ferde: If 30...Ra1+ 31. Kh2 Qd6+, then 32. f4, if 30...Qe1+ 31. Kh2 Qxf2, then 32. Rg3+ forces black to exchange queen for rook to prevent mate.

   Feb-18-07 L Bruzon Batista vs Onischuk, 2005

Neil Ferde: probably a transposition of moves 20. and 21. by white

   Jan-19-07 I Smikovski vs A Lastin, 2006 (replies)

Neil Ferde: e.g. 24.Rxb6, axb6, 25.Nxh6, Bd6, 26.Qg8+, Ke2, 27.Qxg7+, Kd8, 28.Qxf6+, Bd7 or Qd7, 29.Nf7+ etc. I don't have a computer engine to check this and I may well be missing something

   Aug-26-06 M Bezuch vs V Hornak, 2000 (replies)

Neil Ferde: 33.Bf4, Qxf2, right?

   Aug-25-06 Petrosian vs B Ivanovic, 1972 (replies)

Neil Ferde: (euripides:) maybe 61. ... Rb6, 62 Rxf6+ RxR, 63 g5+ Kg7, 64.gxf6+ Kxf6, 65. Kg4,etc?

   Jan-29-06 M Bensdorp-De Labaca vs S Li, 2006 (replies)

Neil Ferde: I agree with <Dutchalego>, Why 30...Nxf2 doesn't win puzzles me. Even better than 32...Rxa3 would be 32...RxN apparentltly leaving black a full rook up.
