Jan-17-05 Shirov vs Grischuk, 2000

MrVega: 44...e2 45.d7 e1=Q 46. d8=Q + CHECK!
After Kh7 White plays Kf7! Black has no checks, and White will mate with Qg8. White has a clear win from here, that's why Grischuk resigned. |

Jan-06-05 Shirov vs Macieja, 2005

MrVega: Obviously the two bishops are strong after black's eighth move on an open board, but white's doubled pawns aren't enough. Everything is more or less forced after 22. h6! After 32. Bh6 Shirov has too many pawns for black to even hope of drawing. |
