   Aug-17-07 A McLennan vs W S Roach, 1979 (replies)

Knight Life: This can't be the real Max Roach as his name was Maxwell Roach, but nice to give him a tribute. A game by Fischer or Kasparov would have been a more apt tribute. He was at that level when it came to drumming.

   Nov-06-06 B Thorfinnsson vs E Player, 1999 (replies)

Knight Life: Black's idea seems to be heading to 21...Rc3x. Why doesn't he pull the trigger on it?

   May-19-06 MTel Masters (2006) (replies)

Knight Life: Topalov is looking good to win the tournament now. My prediction for the final two rounds: Topalov +2, Anand +1=1, Kamsky -2.

Apr-19-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

Knight Life: Is the 24-game match forever dead? This was the standard for deciding a World Champion for so long and now it seems completely impossible to arrange one. Don't get me wrong, I am happy that Kramnik and Topalov have agreed to this match. But 12 games? Two games less than ...

   Jan-24-06 Corus Group B (2006) (replies)

Knight Life: Humpy Koneru is really doing well. She is ranked like 350 in the world and is competing well with players in the top 100. It would be great to see a second woman in the top 100.

Oct-13-05 FIDE World Championship Tournament (2005) (replies)

Knight Life: <keypusher> I can't imagine anyone holding out for Kasimdzhanov as WC after this tournament. Topalov has certainly made a strong claim for being the best player in the world with his showing at San Luis. But I'd like to see a match of 15 games or so with Kramnik and see ...

Aug-17-05 Kasparov vs Browne, 1979 (replies)

Knight Life: I considered 38Bh7, but I'm wondering how white wins after 38...Kf8?

   Apr-29-05 Paul Morphy (replies)

Knight Life: I can't believe that Kasparov never played Botvinnik. Didn't he study at Botvinnik's school?

   Mar-10-05 Linares (2005) (replies)

Knight Life: Orbitkind: Stats aren't everything. Leko-Anand was only 24 moves, but a draw forced by Anand, and an interesting game.

   Sep-16-04 Chiburdanidze vs M Sharif, 1995 (replies)

Knight Life: I think the answer to my own question is: 22 ... Qe6 23. Qg5+ Kh7 24. Bxf5+ Qxf5 25. Qxf5+ Kg8 26. Qg5+ Kh7 27. Qh5+ Bh6 28. Qxf7+ Bg7 29 Qxg7# or 25 ... Kh6 26. Bg5+ Kh5 27 g4#
