Jan-12-11 Matulovic vs A Tsvetkov, 1965
Justawoodpusher: I am pretty sure that this was my fastest solution for a Wednesday puzzle, including recognizing that the knight is trapped. |

Oct-25-10 S Khan vs G Thomas, 1933
Justawoodpusher: Took me much to long to see this, even when I trapped a rook in a game for my team yesterday... |

Oct-19-10 N Vlassov vs A Iljushin, 2003
Justawoodpusher: Saw the queen sac right away. Interesting question was only if the a-pawn is fast enough. And as already mentioned, because black has to capture the f-pawn he leaves the "square" and cannot enter it again. Also without the f-pawn white wins, but this would have been a ... |

Justawoodpusher: 33...a4 looses immediately. The pawn cannot be defended as blacks bishop is blocked. Of course white has to first block the "hole" at f5 to free the knight for eliminating the pawn at a4. Nevertheless also after 33...axb black looses as whites knight can be positioned at f4 ... |

Sep-08-10 P Cherta Clos vs C Guimard, 1946
Justawoodpusher: I first recognised that ♕e3+ would lead to a perpetual and only because I was not satified with it I found g5! Well also Guimard needed a second thought obviously :-) |

Aug-25-10 K Lie vs X Bu, 2008
Justawoodpusher: For me endgame puzzles are comparably more easy to solve then a middle game puzzle of the same day of the week. This one was no exception. Do others have the same feeling? |

May-22-10 V Akopian vs Radjabov, 2010
Justawoodpusher: Strange play by Akopian from move 26. on. Especially 32.h3 is not clear for me. |

May-15-10 L Christiansen vs D Gurevich, 2010
Justawoodpusher: For me there are two lessons here that seem to appear in quite some Sicilian-games: 1.) It is often not wise to castle
2.) It is often better to not take the pawn of white in front of the king. Better let white take the pawn. |
