I compete online, various servers, enjoy the autopairings on ICC most. I scalp titled players now and again which always gives me a thrill; spend far more time on my chess than i can justify, even to myself, but i love charting my rating progress, setting new goals, getting stronger. Back when i joined CG my ambition was to achieve a (meaningful) 2000 online rating, i've since far exceeded that and hope one day, in the not too distant future, to play OTB and become the best player that i can be.

I have tons of dvds, though not too many books as yet. Taught my girlfriend how to play a couple of years ago as she was feeling excluded, she had the basics but that was all, is now rated around 1600, has a premium account w/ CG, is no less addicted than me. She's taught both her mother and younger sister to play, and in less than a year the latter is rated around 1450, higher than where she was at that stage, although her sister put my training plan into effect from the outset; both take quite a keen interest in the top women players, national and international.

I follow all the super tournaments and many master level events, Swiss Opens etc. I have many favourite players, have downloaded thousands of pgns which i've categorised by opening for study purposes. I've become a huge fan of Carlsen's over the last two to three years, was rooting for him to win the Candidates, delighted he pulled it off, am really looking forward to the forthcoming WCC which i'm confident he'll win, though i don't think it'll be a massacre, +2 perhaps, comfortable.

My game collections are too broad at present, i'll probably get round to classifying them more narrowly at some point.

I follow the kibitzing closely and really appreciate the superb insights provided by the multiple gurus and afficionados who people this great site. I generally don't kibitz much myself, except in broad terms, but have been going through a phase recently, i'm sure it'll pass, spare others my borderline trolling.

YouTube is an excellent resource for chess. My old bio sang the praises of Kingscrusher and ofcourse KC does a wonderful job, has such broad appeal, my new hero however is IM Christof Sielecki aka ChessExplained, i really can't speak too highly of his brilliant content. FM Will Stewart aka OnlineChessLessons (who had a great victory at the 2012 U.S. C'ship over GM Ray Robson) also provides excellent content as does SeanGGodley, user/Garech on this site, his analyses of top level tournament games are first class. GM Daniel King aka PowerPlay is another highly accomplished analyst, as one would expect of a GM, who provides selective coverage during super tournaments. MatoJelic's daily game reviews are highly enjoyable and hence highly popular. LifeMasterAJ, a prolific contributor to this site provides the most thorough analyses of selected games i've encountered anywhere online. IM Andrew Martin provides succinct and assured mastery over the games he examines, his videos are real masterclasses.

JustAnotherPatzer: <Absentee> ABSOLUTELY! As i went on to say i was being tongue-in-cheek. <Redshield> You've confused me now lol. I have to do some chores but i'll cite some of those demonstrable differences tomorrow or the day after. Kind regards.

JustAnotherPatzer: Sorry for being off topic on the Magnus page. It did stem, <ultimately>, from a relevant post lol

JustAnotherPatzer: MOLLOY's casual use of such an acronym is symptomatic of our degenerate Cultural Marxist milieu which seeks the umwertung aller werte. He meant no offence. Our social mores /moral values don't change by way of happenstance, so direct your ire toward the social engineers ...

JustAnotherPatzer: very imaginative, ambitious play by Rathnakaran - although he lost he deserves a lot of credit.

JustAnotherPatzer: Congrats on your final GM norm GM Krush. Been following your career since seeing you on a YouTube upload as a youngster with the great Karpov and GM Henley a few years ago. Would enjoy seeing you take on The World. That would be an excellent game.
