Mar-30-08 Nunn vs Fedorowicz, 1991

Isolated Pawn: The toughest puzzles are the ones that contain quiet moves. After rook takes, I considered Be2 but quickly sought out more forcing moves. |

Isolated Pawn: Where is my head? I solved this immediately, but kept thinking to myself, man this is hard for a Monday. But, it's Wednesday. Why did I think it was Monday? |

Sep-24-07 J Emms vs A Blees, 1996
|
Isolated Pawn: Wow. This took me like 30 seconds. LOL. Pretty cool mate. OK, shameless excuse. I try not to just look for the queen sac but to study these positions, even Mondays. That said, I still should have seen this more quickly. |

Jul-15-07 E Prandstetter vs Blatny, 1986
|
Isolated Pawn: This is how I approach a Sunday puzzle; I look at a couple of ridiculous sacrafices, play around with each idea for about 10 seconds each, then give up. Anyone else use the same technique? |

Jul-12-07 I Cheparinov vs Z Almasi, 2006
|
Isolated Pawn: Yeah, count me in on the camp that this move jumped out at me and was the very first I considered. It was very easy to see that after Rxc6, either black's bishop or knight will be lost shortly. All in all, I probably spent 8 seconds looking at this. |
