   Jul-11-09 Parma vs C Bielicki, 1959 (replies)

Googleandchess45: I was a Nirvana fan back in the day, never thought it would be associated with chess though. Nice pun, great game.

Googleandchess45: Chessgames.com, are there any more more contests coming up, besides of course Chessbookie and The Holiday Hunt?

Aug-06-08 Englisch vs Blackburne, 1883 (replies)

Googleandchess45: Instead of 18. Be4?, White can hold on a little longer with 18.Bxf7+. I'm suprised White missed this. Nor is this mentioned in Blackburne's notes.

Jul-22-08 Carlsen vs Bacrot, 2008 (replies)

Googleandchess45: Draw, he might very well lose if he stumbles here. Black already has a Kingside pawn advantage.

   Jul-07-08 I Khamrakulova vs E Ubiennykh, 2001 (replies)

Googleandchess45: Nice one, and I see this was a puzzle before. Just goes to show how the website has grown in the past four years. Only one page of kibitzes. Now the average puzzle gets a little more than two, with some nice annotation from helpful members to boot. And as for the puzzle it ...

   Jul-06-08 Alekhine vs G Kurdjukov, 1930 (replies)

Googleandchess45: I was just playing through this game on Guess the Move, and was shocked at the amount of blunders Alekhine had committed. He had to have been drunk during this.

   Jul-03-08 A Strikovic vs B Kurajica, 1994 (replies)

Googleandchess45: A nice forced victory by White here. Although admitedly I had a harder time figuring out the lines with black declining the sack. This seems like one of those intiuative moves, where white was playing(if black declines the sack, which he did) move by move, instead of using ...

   Jul-02-08 Short vs I Rogers, 1992 (replies)

Googleandchess45: I got the whole solution. Although I didn't bother looking further then Bxh5, figuring it was a won endgame. Suprising since this solution wasn't nessecarily a straight-forward mate.

   Jun-29-08 J Piket vs Smirin, 1993 (replies)

Googleandchess45: Interesting, and yes this was rather easy. Usually I don't like to say this since we are given the luxury of knowing there is a tactical stroke, but there should of been better defense from a 2640 rated player. Considering the strong placement of both the knight and rook, ...

   Jun-28-08 P Popovic vs M Lazic, 1993 (replies)

Googleandchess45: Excuse my earlier comment, it doesn't lead to an endgame it just gives black the 2 rooks vs bishop and rook. With no compensation at all for white.
