   Jul-14-17 Botvinnik vs Ragozin, 1932

George Roberts: In How to Play the Nimzoindian by Keene and Taulbut at move 11 they claim black has a better position. But the results of the game suggest otherwise.

   Jul-08-17 C Schulien vs L Scales, 1976

George Roberts: Wow ! This is an improvement on the book move 10--B-R3 11 BxR BxR 12 B-K3 BxB 13 PxB BxNP 14 Q-N4 B-R6 15 QxB Q-N4 ch 16 K-B1 RxB 17 P-QB3 Q-K4 18 Q-N2 R-N1 20 K-K1 R-N3 0-1 Hermann-Keres 1936 corr

George Roberts: Instead of 12--Bd6 why not 12---Bxd1 ?

   Jun-16-17 A Novopashin vs Spassky, 1963 (replies)

George Roberts: It is surprising that the same game can be played by amateurs because many white player don't study openings. I have won several offhand games with the same moves. The hard part is to figure it out for the first time as Spassky did.

   Jun-15-17 Ivanchuk vs Svidler, 2015

George Roberts: I like the Marshall Gambit as black. I win more often than not and it's just the standard line first used by Boris Spassky many years ago.

   Jun-15-17 J A Anderson vs E Steiner, 1930 (replies)

George Roberts: After 10 cd5 c6 why not 11 Bb4 winning a piece ?
