GamerMan: This "offbeat opening" has enjoyed such a renaissance lately that one can hardly call it offbeat anymore darn, and i played it before it was cool, too. I guess i need a new opening to keep up my hipster cred!

Apr-08-11 Alexandre Deschapelles

GamerMan: Not only was he the strongest player at chess, he completely dominated the field. He made morphy's dominance look even. Not only did he win vs the best players of his time, he could offer them knight odds and still win. Kudos to you Deschapelles! |

Jan-21-11 The World vs N Pogonina, 2010
|
GamerMan: i blame it on 10.Bf4, and i believe also 11.Nd2 (i'm not as sure about that one) where they won the vote despite that almost everyone in teh discussion wanted a different move, but it won the silent majority without even a champion of the cause speaking up for it. |

Aug-23-10 Tal vs Benko, 1958
|
GamerMan: not necissarily most accurate, just most rybka like. Remember, if kasparov and rybka work together to beat another rybka (using strategy and tactics vs tactics), rybka will tell him that it played better than him even though it lost. |

Aug-14-10 Henrik Danielsen

GamerMan: @MaxxLange:
1. ... d5 has the best results vs the bird's opening with in the past two decades. From there, the opening is slow enough that you could try for a variation of the dutch leningrad reversed; try for a king's indian type positiont with Nf6, g6, Bg7, o-o, and c5; or try |
