Nov-21-13 Anand - Carlsen World Championship Match (2013) (replies)

PawnJockey: Imagine if more games in this series were fights of this caliber. Though the blunder is sad, much respect for the fighting spirit this particular game embodied.

   Oct-15-13 Mikhail Tal (replies)

PawnJockey: Tal is not dead! He sacrificed his life to create an attack.

   Oct-12-13 Kosteniuk vs N Kosintseva, 2012

PawnJockey: <HeMateMe> I too wish there were more effort to indicate when games were lost on time in this database, but I can't imagine any other scenario in this case.

   Oct-07-13 N Kosintseva vs T Kosintseva, 2012 (replies)

PawnJockey: Epic!-endurance test.

   Oct-07-13 Chessgames - Beer (replies)

PawnJockey: <OhioChessFan> This is the most fair and meaningful piece of legislation I have heard of in recent memory...sadly.

   Oct-05-13 Robert James Fischer (replies)

PawnJockey: <DhavalVyas> wow...thanks for sharing.

   Oct-03-13 Tal vs V Veders, 1951 (replies)

PawnJockey: Perhaps Veders didn't want to give Tal the option of taking the queens off the board but after 18. h5, white's pawn needs to be blocked tout suite it seems to me. 18. ..h6 19.Qxc5 Nxc5 althought that line does look sort of drawish, I'd take a draw against Tal any day. (at rook ...

Oct-03-13 Steinitz vs Bird, 1866 (replies)

PawnJockey: Steinitz approves of this game.

Sep-25-13 Gelfand vs Dominguez Perez, 2013 (replies)

PawnJockey: <luzhin> You are absolutely right. 39. Rxe5 is crushing. I wonder if there was time pressure on both players as 39.. Ne5 seems a blunder to me. The whole point of white's queen on the G file (at least at first glance) appears to put the pin on black's g-pawn and in that ...

Sep-21-13 Anand vs Topalov, 2005 (replies)

PawnJockey: I believe that 42: A7 is the way forward for white. The threat of a pawn on the 7th would require careful and constant attention from black. It would prove advantageous in the event that black actually manages to make good on his identical threat by queening the H pawn.
